"maybe in another world, another life, we were meant for a happy ending, but not here, not this time"
in which nishimura ayame is struggling with her mental health and home life and yang jungwon tries to help her but nothing could ever go right for...
jungwon had walked with the girl to her sketchy neighborhood not wanting to let her go on her own.
jungwon hadn't let go of her hand and clasped tightly onto hers which made ayame's heart burst once again, giving a small chance of hope
poor girl..
they stopped in front of ayame's rundown house and ayame was very embarrassed and ashamed about it, which she shouldn't have.
jungwon could tell that the girl was embarrassed. he held her hand tighter, reassuring her, "don't be embarrassed. i'm not going to make fun of you"
she just nodded before jungwon let go of her hand.
"are you sure you'll be okay in there?" jungwon asked her, "is your father home?"
ayame almost forgot that jungwon now knew about it.
she sighed, "i just hope for the best you know.."
jungwon was worried for her and almost didn't want to leave but it was already late at night and his mom was going to yell at him if he didn't come home
"alright..stay safe ayame. text me if something happens" he patted her head
"text me when you got home as well"
jungwon nodded and just stood outside, "i'll leave when you go inside"
"okay..see you tomorrow" she responded and he grinned
"see you tomorrow" he waved at the girl before ayame walked to her door before opening it and entering her house.
jungwon then left, hoping the best for ayame.
if only he had stayed a few more seconds for her.
before ayame could even take a step to go to her room, a hand wrapped around her throat, slamming her against the door.
"where were you?" the voice she absolutely hated spoke to her.
ayame choked on her words as she brought her hands up to her father's hand, trying to get it off of her, "p-please..i can't breathe.."
"answer me first" he held onto her neck even tighter
"i-i w-was just at w-work.." she was able to mutter out, "n-now please let me.."
her father used his other hand to grip her hair before pulling it back, "what did i tell you about this job? i told you to quit it"
"w-why?" she cried, "i-i just want to support riki and me.."
"and me?"
she scoffed, "why t-the fuck would i wanna support you?" ayame bravely let out and she immediately regretted it when she was harshly thrown to the floor and was kicked in the stomach.
about to be kicked again, ayame felt nothing. she opened her eyes and saw her brother blocking ayame
"d-don't..hurt her. please" riki was finally taking the chance to protect his sister just like she did.
"riki don't-"
before ayame could speak, her father kicked riki's stomach
"yah!" ayame shouted as she scrambled herself up before slapping her own father across the face, "don't you ever! touch riki!"
her father slapped her again forcefully, "you two fucking brats need to leave this earth. you guys cause me enough pain"
"pain?!" ayame shouted, "we cause you pain?! you were the one who had two children with mom"
"your mother was a slut"
"don't call her that!" ayame defended her mom, "all you ever did was cause us pain! you hit us everyday! you make us bleed and cry everyday! i pay for so much shit in this house only for you to fucking spend it on drinks and drugs! i want to support you but i can't when all you do is messed up bullshit! i want a father to love and i want a father who will love me and riki! not some fucking monster who abuses us and doesn't give a crap about us!" ayame ranting out, her tears coming out of her eyes
her father was silent and for a moment ayame thought she may have gotten to him but she was wrong as her father gripped her wrist harshly and was about to pull her but riki, who was still weakly on the floor, gripped onto her ankle to get her to stay with him but their father was much stronger than the weak boy on the floor.
their father dragged ayame, even with her resisting, to the kitchen before he grabbed a knife out of the drawer
"f-father..stop w-what are you-" the father didn't say anything but instead pulled the girl closer to him and placed the knife on her cheek, sliding across her face before slicing her cheek
she winced her pain before pushing away from her father, the knife falling to the floor, "y-you're fucking crazy!" she stammered
her father stayed silent once more again and grabbed her wrist once more. he dragged her to the bathroom, throwing her in the bathtub. she winced in pain again, holding the back of her head.
"you sleep in here tonight" before ayame could even say anything, the bathroom door slammed closed.
ayame choked out just air before bursted into more tears. she looked over at the bathtub faucet and she debated something in my mind.
choking on her tears, she reached for the faucet about to turn it on
before she could turn it on, the door opened and there her father threw riki in as well before slamming the door closed again.
ayame wasted no time in getting out of the bathtub before rushing to riki who was in pain on the floor.
"riki..riki.." she shook him and she was scared for a few seconds before he felt riki reach for her hand. ayame let out a breath of relief before helping the boy sit up correctly.
riki's eyes adjusted and he saw the blood on her cheek. his hand reached up to her cheek, covering the wound, "y-you're bleeding-"
"i don't care" she cried to the boy, hugging him tightly, "thank you for protecting me riki.."
"of course..but obviously i didn't do a good job" he sniffled, feeling defeated
"you did a good job riki. thank you so much"
they hated their lives except ayame hated it much more
riki was always nervous about past events reoccurring and he knew she was still suffering
it was just a matter of time of when she finally ended her suffering.
