As l sit here at my desk processing the news l just received from Dr. Garland
She wants me to come to LA so they can run some test and possibly do a biopsy, she wants to come in next Wednesday. I look at the time
I'm supposed to have been left the office, l'm trying to figure out how am I going to tell Stef this. I gather up my things, so I can head home. Stef could always know something's wrong by the look on my face. I hate that l have to keep this from her, l'm still having a hard time with the information
I just want to enjoy the weekend with my wife and kids. I hear my phone buzzing, l look at the calling lD
and see Stef's picture appear on the screen. If I don't answer she'll think l'm hiding from her. We've never been that couple that keeps things from each other, this news is messing with my mind and l'm not thinking clearing. I need to act calm before answering, l pick up the phone hello I say. Babe where are you l'm home with the kids we need to get on the road before the traffic gets to bad
Stef says, l'm leaving the center now
I should be home in twenty minutes or so. Lena replies, ok love please drive safe. Stef said to me, alright I will see you soon Lena replied
Lena locked up her office and headed to the parking lot to retrieve her car
She unlock the doors and got in
Putting her bag in the front seat, she buckle up her seat belt. Started the vehicle and pulled out the parking garage, she turned on the radio
Listening to classic music. That always brought her a sense of calmness, as she drove home
twenty minutes of driving
Lena turns down the familiar road
Then she pulls up to the house. Lena sees Stef loading up the luggage in the trunk. Lena tries to act normal as if the last few hours didn't happen
She wanted to have a nice weekend without any sadness, Lena turns off the car and got out grabbing her things along with her. Hi beautiful how was your day Lena asks Stef
Everything went great, Stef says
I'm gonna go inside and get changed into something comfortable. Lena walked over to kiss Stef, she could tell by the look on Lena's face. She been crying, Lena went into the house and saw her children eating a snack. Lena kissed them both, after they greeted her. She went on upstairs and kicked off her heels, then she walked over to the closet. to find a pair of jeans to wear, Lena took out her black pants and a nice shirt. She quickly got change, Lena went to the bathroom and handle her business.
