CHRISTIAN IRWIN
hey you! don't be a silent reader:)I open my dorm room door, kicking off my slides and taking off my long baseball socks. Holy shit this practice was rough.
I plop down on the couch and turn on the t.v.
After a while, I hear the door burst open. Not think anything of it, I go back to what I was doing.
"Come here big boy." I hear Dallas say in a whisper voice.
Big boy?
"What the fuck" I mutter to myself, my head pops up and my eyes widened at what i'm seeing.
"Oh hey.." Dallas says nervously, waving like a child.
"Why the hell do you have a dog?" I raise my eyebrow and walk closer to him.
He rubs the back of his neck, "So you see." He pauses.
I nod for him to go on, "So I was coming home, and I saw this little guy." He says, petting the white dog.
"And I decided I wanted to take him home." He says opening a cabinet to get a bowl for water.
"So you felt bad for a dog, who probably has an owner." I ask him crossing my arms.
He looks at the dog and me, "Yeah pretty much." He shrugs his shoulders.
I look at him like he's fucking stupid. "I don't think they even allow pets in the building."
"Oh well." He shrugs his shoulders, knowing damn well they don't allow pets.
I run my hands through my hair, "Fuck." I mutter under my breath.
He gets up from the floor. "Well we're keeping him."
He's joking right?
I groan, making the dog tilt its head. "What are we naming him?" I ask Dallas.
He tilts his head, examining him. "He looks like a Milo." He says, "Yeah, Milo it is." He nods his head.
I let another groan out. "Why?" I question, "Just why?"
Dallas opens his bedroom door, looking back at me. "Oh give me a fucking break. You'll warm up to him." He says, closing the door behind him.
I look back at Milo, bending down at his level. "You know what? Your kinda cute." I say to the dog, smiling a bit.
"I heard that!" Dallas yells from his room, causing me to laugh.
"You didn't hear shit." I yell back at him turning my attention to Milo again. "He's so dumb" I tell the dog, thinking he can understand what i'm saying.
I walk to Dallas's room and burst through the door, turning his head swiftly towards the door. "Dude knock at least."
"If we're going to keep this fucking dog." I say, looking back at Milo. "Then we need to go shopping for him."
I lean against the dorm frame, arms crossed.
He groans and his head falls back. "Why?" He whines dragging the "y"
"Because." I whine, mocking him.
He puts his shoes on and grabs his cap putting it on.
I nod my head satisfied, because he's finally listening to me.
I stand there for a while, "Well are you coming?" He asks me waiting at the door. "Shit."
He opens the door and walks out, slamming the door behind him.
Asshole.
*****
I grab a cart and head over to the pet section, I look over my shoulder and see Dallas still at the entrance of the store.
I roll my eyes and groan a bit, "For fucks sake dude." I mumble under my breath.
"stop dragging ass and hurry the hell up!" I yell from across the store.
He turns his head towards me and fast walks toward me.
I look back at the dog food, "You wanted a dog, you have to by it food." I say putting the dog food into the car.
"And a bed." I put a blue, fluffy bed into the cart.
He looks at me, "Wow! What!? I didn't know that!" He says sarcastically.
I roll my eyes, once again and just walk away with from him.
