"Jess, hey, sorry are you busy right now?" Jordan asked as soon as Jess answered her phone.

"Uh no, I'm just at home with Derek. Why, what's up?" The witch questioned. She and Derek had just been eating dinner when Parrish called, irritating the wolf.

"I... I'm freaking out right now. Lydia said to go to yours but I just wanted to make sure you weren't busy." The deputy replied.

"Yeah of course, come on over. I'll see you in a bit." Jess responded before hanging up and spotting the text from Lydia, informing her they were coming over. "Der!" The witch called out after realising he wasn't sat at their table anymore. She walked into the main room and found Derek sat with his head in his hands.

"He's coming over?" Derek asked, angrily.

"He needs our help, Der. Scott and Lydia are gonna be here too." She stated, kneeling down in front of him.

"He likes you, Jess-" The man started to say while finally looking at her.

"But I love you, Hale." Jess interrupted as she sat up and started leaning in towards him. "I love you." She whispered against his lips just as the door to the loft opened. "Play nice." She instructed before walking over to her friends.

"Jess, Derek, can we talk to you for a moment?" Scott requested. The witch stood up and nodded before walking into the kitchen with Scott, Lydia and Derek following.

"What's going on?" Jess questioned as she grabbed a few bottles of water from the fridge.

"Jordan was set on fire and survived. He's literally perfectly fine." The banshee stated. The married couple looked at the pair in shock.

"What? Is that even possible?" The witch queried.

"Possibly. We don't know what he is." Stated Derek.

"We're gonna freak him out if we stay in here much longer." Jess warned the group. "We should go back out and discuss this with him... He may know a bit about what he is."

The group went back out to the main room and Derek immediately laced his fingers through Jess' as they walked over to Jordan. Once they reached the deputy, Jess let go of her husband's hand and reached out for Jordan's so she could inspect them.

"He covered you in gasoline?" Derek asked.

"It's the hair and nails, isn't it? The parts of the body that are essentially dead." Said Lydia.

"Well, they should be gone." Jess replied.

"I was set on fire! All of me should be gone..." Jordan stated.

"Not if you're like us." Countered Scott causing the others to nod in agreement.

"Like you?" Parrish asked, looking round the group.

"I don't think he's like us." Said Derek, ignoring the deputy's question.

"Then what is he?" The banshee queried.

"Sorry but I have no idea. Jess?" The beta replied.

"I can look into it but I have no clue at the moment. Sorry, Jordan." Responded Jess as she moved away from the deputy slightly.

"But you knew about Jackson and Kira..." Scott interjected.

Derek wrapped his arm around Jess' waist and pulled her closer into his side before responding, "This is a little out of my experience. There might be something in the bestiary, have you tried Argent?"

"I don't know where he is." The alpha replied.

"I can find him." Jess volunteered. "Me and him working together is our best bet right now."
