Recover Pt. 1

Authors note: So~ Who else questions the aftermath of Pah-chin's arrest, and stuff... I do... a lot... so... like... here's my take on it! Sorry for the delay, things have been a bit hectic. Please enjoy~ 

July 21st, 2005 Mikey

"TAKEMICHI!!" Meiko almost seems to scream crying as she tries to shake her brother awake. Mikey cannot help but be stunned in place as he sees the Hanagaki sister crying over her brother's unconscious form. The raw emotion in her voice and eyes is eerily familiar to him, as for a second he's remembering the sight of his older brother's lifeless body being loaded and taken away. Baji's sobbing apology replays in his ears as he almost finds himself being sucked back to that day long ago.

"Move!" He finds himself being shoved to the side by Draken, as his friend joins Meiko as she tries to wake the boy up. "What happened?!"

Meiko sobs, shaking her head, "I think he has a concussion! His eyes were unfocused back at the warehouse after getting beaten by Osanai and Pah!"

"Shit..." Draken growled looking around as the sound of sirens seemed to be once more approaching them, "Fuck. We can't stay."

"What are we gonna do?" Peh nervously exclaimed as he looked around, "Do we just leave him here?"

"I am not leaving my brother," Meiko growled, sending the taller boy a glare as Draken only shook his head.

"Hey, it's okay. Look, we're not leaving anyone else behind." He reassured, placing a gentle hand on Meiko's shoulder.

Mikey feels his heart race with rage as he hears the boy say this. 'So, he won't make her leave Takemitchy... but he'll make us leave Pah!' He angrily thought as Draken slung the unconscious Takemichi on his back carefully.

"There's a park nearby with some good hiding spots that you and Takemichi can probably hide in. Wait for the cops to pass, then you can get him to a hospital." Draken stated, pointing a bit ahead, "I'll call Emma to come meet up with you two, too. It might be a good idea to figure out a cover story for his current state."

Meiko nodded to this, whipping away her tears, "Yeah, I'll need to call Yai and Hina too and see if they can't come to help." She agreed before she gained a concerned expression. "... But what about you three?" She looked towards Peh and Mikey at this.

Mikey felt his stomach twist into knots at this. Noticing how pale and drained the usually energetic and lively girl now appeared, with her disheveled black locks, red and puffy eyes, and the sweat running down her brow. He worried about not only Takemichi who obviously needed medical attention but also Meiko who had been forced to see her brother in this state. "We'll–"

"We'll be fine." Draken cut in, causing Mikey to glare at him, "You were right about us needing to split up. We'll help you hide, and then book it our own separate ways from there." Draken's eyes met Mikey's in their own glare, and Meiko and Peh could not help but nervously look between the two as they quietly watched what was slowly building before their eyes.

His bedroom door being abruptly opened, Mikey was broken out of his deep thoughts of the direct aftermath of Takemichi's collapse. Sitting up from his laid-back position on his bed to look up as Emma waved to him from his door. "I'm back~"

Sitting up fully he frowned at his sister as she fully entered his personal space, "Hey." He greeted waiting for the girl to come over to sit on his bed with him. "How's it looking?" He asked, his sister humming a bit concernedly as she took a cross-legged position on his bed and began to pick at the fabric of his sheets.
