Jackie POV:
"Man, this sure brings back memories, doesn't it?" Clint chuckled as we entered the old cabin that we had spent many a day in, waiting for exfil. Some of the core memories were me actually admitting that I considered him a friend, me saving his ass (again), him saving my life for the first time, and most importantly, the start of Natasha's journey with SHIELD and the Avengers. "God, I thought that we'd never this place again."
"Why?" I asked, raising a brow.
"Well after SHIELD went underground, I thought they sold it." Clint informed.
"They did." I hummed. "To me."
Clint dropped the bags and turned to look at me, a slightly stunned look on his face. "How much more am I going to learn about you? Like how many more surprises do you have?" He asked.
"Enough that the way you'll probably go is a heart attack, especially now that we've decided to retire from the agent business." I teased, pecking a kiss on his lips. "Although, I must admit, it's going to feel weird not being right in the middle of battles for the fate of the universe anymore."
"Who said we won't still be there for the meaningful battles?" Clint allowed a playful smile to reach his lips, making me turn to face him in surprise. "What?"
"Clint..." I trailed off, shaking my head instead of finishing my sentence. I really couldn't say anything, as we both knew that what he had implied was the truth. If there was a world-threatening battle, you could bet your ass that we'd be right there on the frontlines. It was just in our blood. But for now, we were going to enjoy our time on our new project: restoring the cabin that held so many memories for us.
However one thing that was born in this place had stuck the most--
