Chapter 5

Time Skip To Five Weeks Later

Paisley's POV
I am now nine weeks pregnant and I have my first doctor appointment. I'm nervous but Johnny said he would go with me. He and I have gotten really close. He's the sweetest.

Johnny and I are lying in my bed resting before we have to get ready for the appointment. "Hey baby girl, I'll be right back okay?" He said and I lifted my head from his chest. "Where ya going?" I asked with a slight pout.

Johnny laughed softly and kissed my forehead. "Don't worry baby girl. I just gotta go ask Steve something." He said and I stood up from the bed.

"You stay in bed and rest." He said as he covered me up with a throw blanket. He turned and walked out of the room and I was left wondering what he needed to talk to Steve about.

Johnny's POV
I walked into the kitchen and sat at the table with Steve while he ate a piece of cake. He looked up at me confused.

"What's up?" He asked. "Don't get mad. But I really like Paisley and I wanna take her on a date after her appointment." I said and he grinned.

"I already knew you liked her Johnny. Shoot the gang knows you both like each other." He said and I looked at him confused.

"You mean-" i began. "Yeah Johnny she likes you too. All she does when you're not around is talk about you. I don't mind if you take her on a date or ask her to your girlfriend. But if you hurt her I will kill you." He said the last park in a serious tone. I swallowed with wide eyes and nodded my head before standing up and going back to Paisley's room.

"Hey baby girl. We gotta get dressed for the day and go to the appointment. Put something warm on. It's starting to get cold out side." I said and she nodded and stood up.

Paisley's POV
I stood up out of bed and put on a grey sweater, black leggings and some black boots. I brushed my hair out before braiding it into a loose side braid.

I applied a little bit of lip gloss and some mascara. After that I turned to Johnny and smiled. "Okay I'm ready." I smiled and he held out his hand for me to take. I took it and we started heading down the hall.

"Bye Stevie. We'll be back in a little while!" I called out. I heard a distant bye come from the kitchen as the door shut behind us.

"You wanna get some food after the appointment?" Johnny asked suddenly as he looked at me. I felt butterflies in my stomach and looked away with a smile.

"Sure. That sounds good." I said calmly. The rest of the walk to the doctor was a peaceful silence unless me or Johnny would point out something that a greaser gang was doing.

~~After the Appointment~~
Johnny and I walked into the Dingo and sat down at our usual booth. A few minutes later, Johnny took my hand in his from across the table.

"Paisley I need to tell you something." He said with a serious tone. I felt my heart race. "What is it Johnnycakes?" I asked nervously.

"I really like you Paisley. I have for awhile now. But I didn't wanna ruin our friendship so I never told you. But.. well... Paisley Elizabeth Randle will you be my girl?" He asked and I couldn't help but smile.

I leaned over the table and kissed Johnny's cheek. "I would love to Johnnycakes. I really like you too. I have since we were kids in junior high." I said with a smile.

Johnny's smiled widened. A waitress came and took our order not too long after. While we were waiting, the bell on the door rang and I looked up to see who it was.

Ponyboy and Rosalee walked in. I waved them over and moved to sit in the other booth with Johnny. "Hey guys. What's up?" Ponyboy asked.

"Had a doctor appointment today. How was school?" I asked and Rosalee laughed. "Girl you missed it. Sylvia was at school today and she started mouthing off to Cherry about how she "Knows that she slept with Dallas" and they got into a big argument about it. Cherry tried to walk away and Sylvia got mad so she pulled her back. Cherry turned around and slugged Sylvia right in the nose!" She laughed. I couldn't help but laugh myself.

"Good for Cherry. Did they get in trouble?" I asked with a small giggle. "Yeah they both got a suspension period of four weeks." Ponyboy grinned.

"Man Cherry sure can throw a punch. She made Sylvia nose bleed! I saw her walking out of the nurse's office after it was cleaned of blood and it was crooked." Ponyboy laughed. Johnny and I laughed along with the Curtis siblings.

After hanging out with Ponyboy and Rosalee for a little while and eating the food we ordered, we all split the check and headed to the Curtis house.

When we got there everyone was laughing. "Hey did y'all hear about ol' Sylvia? Two-bit here told us she got slugged pretty good by Cherry Valance!" Sodapop laughed.

Everyone started laughing again. The rest of the day was spent hanging out and laughing at nothing. Little did we know, that soon we would meet someone none of us knew anything about.
