One and a half years later
Finally, after everything you've been through, it's all been worth it because you're with the person you truly love and that's all that matters. Needless to say that there weren't going to be more difficult times ahead, but you had someone with you, every step of the way. You helped each other and had been honest with one another. Cedric was one of a kind.
You learned to love, to be yourself around him, there was nothing left to hide anymore. You never wished to be separated or to lose him.
After, the Battle of Hogwarts both of you remained to help people who needed it. Rebuilding things that were destroyed, helping students, and teachers recover from their injuries. You spent the first week in the infirmary tending to people. Madame Pomfrey couldn't do it alone, the Professors assigned all those who wanted to help with a new area to help every week. You barely ever saw Cedric or the rest of your friends. Lewis was around but not really. Caleb kept you company in the infirmary for a while till he got better.
Sometimes late at night, you'd stay up, re-living memories going through conversations. Most people did that, some wrote in journals, others talked to one another, and some suppressed it and carried on.
When things got better, Cedric and you began going into town for a break, just reveling in some time alone. It was really fun but there was a natural point where you both needed time alone. You both respected that and parted for two months, maybe more.
Cedric returned back to his father, and you and Lewis returned back to your house in London, to find your father waiting for the both of you. There was lots of arguing and fighting. He stayed for a few nights and it was unbearable. Nothing was working. The chemistry and the relationship died way too long ago. You and Lewis both had a go, shouting and revealing your feelings, and his eyes looked sorry, but you don't think his heart was. Lewis was furious, and he finally left. Dad - father signed the name to the house and other properties and belongings around London and other places. It was true; he was never getting out of Azkaban. You said goodbye and agreed to visit twice a year, on birthdays and one other day. Going in and out of Azkaban was hard enough.
Life became complicated, harder. You and Lewis both stayed up locked in your rooms for about a week, occasionally meeting in the kitchen in the middle of the night or informing the other they were leaving the house.
The processing and isolation stage ended, but the effects were so drastic on the mind it took months for the both of you to get better. You spent time together, going out a few times a week, and Lewis finally convinced you to attend a few sessions of therapy with him after lots of reluctance.
He needed it, he really did. He always blamed himself for what happened, for your mother dying and believing your father. One moment always replayed in your head, when you were leaving Hogwarts.
"You were talking to Malfoy, I think. I don't know." he shakes his head. "I don't know if h-he's alive or-" he stops for a moment trying to breathe. You just wait for him. "I . . . remember something mom told us something before s-she died." His lips and fingers tremble. "She told us not to trust him," he says, shocked, "and we didn't listen. We didn't-"
You look down at the floor "I know, but-"
"We didn't listen to her! Look where that got us!"
Lewis was the best and then to see him all broken, kind of broke you too. A special bond you share with someone, your twin.
But, the session, was helpful, more than you'd like hat explained a lot about your behavior and ways of thinking. Lewis had a little more to deal with. They diagnosed him with a few things and took medication for a while.
