Chapter 50

'Mornin' Neville said staring into space

'Hi' you replied bored grabbing a plate of fruit for yourself. Soon both of you became invested in a deep conversation. 'I-I should go' Neville mutters leaving the table quite abruptly. Something strange was going on with him. You then stayed in the great hall for another few minutes till you proceeded to go to your classes. Hogwarts didn't feel like Hogwarts anymore. There was no feeling of safety or home. There were no more gatherings, Quidditch or going to Hogsmeade, etc. You missed Quidditch you hadn't played in months. Most people you knew were nowhere to be seen.

'Good you're here' Harry says smiling

'Always am aren't I?' you reply as you see the rest of Dumbledore's Army standing in front of you 'Let's get started then?' you say as you walk over to Lewis talking to Hermione with a smirk on his face. You can see Caleb and Cedric whispering in the corner, you hadn't seen both of them in a while. Many people had come up to you asking if you were alright. You simply nodded in reply.

'Today we're going to conjure our Patronus. Think of your happiest memory and then perform the spell.' He began, everyone found a space and attempted to conjure their Patronus. Luna already had hers. 'A full body Patronus is the hardest.' Harry continued walking around as more people began to make their Patronuses appear. You tried your best. You focused, searched your mind for a happy memory.

'Expecto Patronum' you said cleaning your throat. A small white mist-like trail left your hand then slowly dying, falling. You looked around the room to find most people already with their Patronus. Fred and George had birds, Hermione's was an otter. Ron was some sort of dog. 'Expecto Patronum' you said this time more confidently, with a more vivid memory. The trail of white-ish blue left your wand higher in the air, then again dropping, disappearing. Cedric conjured up a boar or badger. It was moving quite fast to tell exactly. 'You can do it' Harry said coming over to you encouraging. Lewis was with Hermione and the twins. He had already performed the spell and succeed. It was a crow and the blue misty bird soared around him.

'I can do it, you can do it y/n' you spoke to yourself.

'Just think of something happy, the first time you rode a broom or the time...' Lewis says from behind which startles you.

'I'm trying' you reply 'Well, there is something but I dunno if It was real'

'Just try it out anyways' he replies as you hold out your wand in front of you. You then flick the wand and say the incantation. The white trail this time doesn't die out it shoots up into the air and your smile. A thin line of silver and blue. Something starts moving and then slows down and stops in front of you. Your Patronus was a (Your Patronus). You reached out your hand to touch it, it felt strange. 'Interesting' Lewis says smiling.

'Interesting indeed' you reply.

Cedric gave you a hug from behind and a tiny kiss on your cheek which made you blush. 'Hey love' he whispers in your ear.

'Hey Ced' you reply facing towards him now. He then smiles holding your hands gently. 'I was wondering'

'You were wondering' you repeat playfully

'If you were free next week'

'Yeah I am' you say raising your eyebrow

'Perfect'

Soon your headshot towards the wall, everyone's did. A huge thumping sound came from behind the wall. And another one. It didn't stop. Everyone huddled together with their wands at the ready. Your Patronus then evaporated into the air, vanishing. Immediately, the glass on the wall broke followed by the wall itself into pieces, and dust particles rose into the air. It was a big explosion and you all moved to the sides as big pieces of rock flew towards you.
