Chapter 14: The Star

Trevor Dmitri's Point of View

"That's why you shouldn't let your friend become your coworker." I put my hands on my forehead and didn't even bother to say a word.

"Oh on the second thought, he's not even a friend but your manager." I was really stupid for hiring someone I know as my manager. I need someone to organize all my stuff and shits. Like handling all our finances, making schedules and many more.

My record label becomes so demanding that I have to make music every now and then and travel to the world to promote my music together with my bandmates. He fucking stole money from me. His name is Jim and we used to be bandmates way back in middle school.

I should have listened to Nikos and not hired someone I'm closed with. But shit really happened. Those who will fuck you from ay ang mga taong kakilala mo pa. Damn.

"Do you want to press charges?"

"He stole two million and five hundred thousand to you and you look so calm right now. Wow, Trevor Dmitri, what a Saint." Natatawa niyang sambit habang umiiling.

"If I ever over reacted, wala rin naman mangyayari." I tsked. It's not like the money he stole from me will magically appear in my bank account. I partly blame myself for this. Trusting him with everything.

"Thank God, I finally heard your voice. I am honored." Nikos said nonchalantly.

"Anong plano mo? Naghihintay lang naman ako kung anong gusto mong gawin sa manager mo. I mean your ex-manager." Nikos Stanislaski said with a grin. Is he expecting me to ruin this guy?

"Don't bother, I have my own plan. Just help me look for a new manager." 'Yun na lang ang nasabi ko. I just hope that my ex-manager didn't think that I'll let him run away with my money. Contrary to what Nikos said, I am not a fucking Saint. I have plans and I will execute them properly. He will pay... in a way that I know.

"So you're on hiatus that's why you're planning to stay at my cousin's house?" He must be talking about Damien. I pressed my lips into a thin line and drink the beer in my hand.

"Umiinom na kayo agad, you didn't even bother waiting for us." My gaze dropped to the man who entered the room. It was Raven and Severus who happened to be in the vicinity, too.

"Why are you two so late?" Nikos cried in glee.

"Mapapanis laway ko kay Trevor, seems like he doesn't want to talk to me." He added. Raven made an awie sound, patting Nikos in the head.

"Hindi ka na nasanay." Hindi ko na lang siya pinansin at tinuon ko na lang ang sarili ko sa pagiinom.

Talking exhausts me. I find speaking tiresome.

"Nasaan na ba si Kalev at Alexander?" Severus asked.

"Kalev texted me that he is on his way. Alexander too." Nikos answered.

Sometimes, I wonder why I am part of this crowd. I've known them since we were kids and they've become part of my tiny circle. Unlike them, I don't have traumatic past experiences that shape me into who I am today. Maybe because I don't let other people come into my life easily. I grew up pretty much alone, so I don't have someone to talk to. Being an only child, that's pretty much of it.

After an hour, dumating na rin si Kalev at Alexander, both wearing their usual attire. We're at Kalev's bar, staying at the VIP lounge and drinking cold beer to our heart's extent. Madalas kaming mag boys night out. Kalev made sure that no one will bother me here. No paparazzi and all those stupid things. Nikos handle the media for me, para hindi mailagay ang mukha ko sa tabloid or the internet. Ayoko rin naman mabalita nang lasing. I remembered last time I asked Nikos to be my manager. Pero agad itong tumanggi.
