Chapter 30: The Promise

It was already dark outside when Theo and I decided to leave the hospital. Doon ko rin napagaalaman na siya ang lalaking nakausap ko sa cabinet. Small world, huh?

I also told him that I'll give his bracelet back once I get it to my room. He told me to take my time.

Tinago ko talaga iyon nang mapulot ko ang bracelet. I just want to keep it so I am motivated that once I come back, I will prove that Trevor is still the one. Pero mukhang malabo na yata itong mangyari. Now that he wanted me to stop.

Theo decided to give me a lift to the house. Wala rin naman akong dalang kotse kaya pumayag na lang ako sa suggestion niya. Inside his car, we talked about nonsense stuffs and it was full of laughter. When we reached the house, nagulat na lang ako dahil nakita kong nakatayo si Trevor sa gate ng bahay. He was just standing there, wearing a black coat and a mask. And when Theo parked his car, nakasunod ang tingin niya sa kotse.

"Omg!" Napahawak ako sa braso ni Theo at pinisil ito.

"Tori, maawa ka naman sa braso ko." Hinilot niya ang braso niya kung saan ko ito pinisil.

"What is he doing outside our gate!?"

"You mean the guy over there?"

"That's Trevor!" Turo ko sa labas.

"You really got it bad, Tori. Kahit naka suot ito ng coat at face mask ay kilala mo talaga ito." Bigla akong napatigil sa sinabi ni Theo. And I almost laugh at myself. I really got it bad. Tinamaan talaga ako ni Kupido. I know even his stance.

"Theo, I think I should go."

"I felt weird. Parang kanina lang ay nakita ko ito sa music video ngayon naman ay sa personal." Nakamasid pa rin si Theo sa labas habang nanatiling nakatayo si Trevor at nakatingin sa sasakyan.

"Anyway, thank you for today Theo. I really enjoyed it."

"Me too. See you around. And good luck, Tori."

I told him that he doesn't need to get off the car. Kaya naman ako na lang ang lumabas sa kotse ni Theo. And when I got off his car, I watched him maneuver it and leave. Now, I am alone in Trevor's presence. Trevor didn't greet me with nice words but with a quirked eyebrow. Kahit may facemask ang binata ay alam ko naka simangot ito at parang hindi gusto ang kanyang nakikita. He always quirked his eyebrows when things doesn't go in his way, his mouth will inch upward, his eyes gleaming dark.

"Having fun with your new friend?" He scoffed. Umalis siya sa pagkasandal sa pader at lumapit sa akin. He made sure that we have still have space with each other.

"Of course, Theo had been so good to me." I stifle a groan. Ngunit mas lalo lang sumama ang tingin niya sa akin.

"Why are you outside? Bakit hindi ka pumasok sa loob." Medyo naiirita kong sambit sa kanya dahil nakatira rin naman siya sa loob ng bahay. He removed the hood of his coat but he didn't remove his face mask. Kaya ang tanging nakikita ko lang sa kanya ay ang kanyang mga mata at ang tangos ng kanyang ilong. Mukhang gusto niyang magtanong tungkol kay Theo ngunit mukhang ipinagsawalang bahala na lang niya ito.

"I am waiting for you," Nabigla ako sa pagsalita niya. His voice is kinda different, a little deep. The voice came out fresh from the cold.

"Para saan? You've been avoiding me for two days. After making me happy, you'll avoid me the following day." I frown. I tried not to roll my eyes at him and cry. I almost want to hug him because I missed him so much. Pero pinigilan ko ang sarili ko dahil hanggang ngayon ay naalala ko pa rin ang sinabi niya.
