Dan eyed me suspiciously using the rear mirror. I knew the thoughts running through his head but I kept my mouth shut. Sooner or later he would speak his mind.
"Your mom called me to pick you up from school?"
Seems he couldn't wait for later.
"Mmhmn. That's nothing new" I said casually.
His forehead creased, "Are you going to act dumb? Well, she said she was called by the principal that you almost fainted in class"
"Okay? Is this conversation getting anywhere?" I gave him a blank look.
I know he was getting irritated by my nonchalant attitude but I found it amusing. If he wants the truth straight from my mouth.... well it might just cost him a little. Hehehe. Evil laugh. Two tiny devil horns on my head and an imaginary smirk on my face.
"You look fine to me" he stated.
"I do?" I asked innocently.
"Are you really sick or you wanted to bunk off school?" he asked impatiently.
"What do you think? I didn't bunk off, the school permitted me remember?"
"Nevermind" he hissed and focused solely on the road.
Why does this remind me of something? Focus on the road. There is nothing but the road. Reminds you of something too right?

"Do you know how easy it is to rile you up?" I asked rhetorically with a laugh.
He ignored me.
"Ok, I'm going to talk. My classmates and I got into trouble so I had to act up to save all of us"
"Wow!" he clapped, "Are you perhaps a member of the Justice League? Because you seem pretty good at saving people"
I laughed heartily, "You are really learning a lot from me, I must say. I guess my sarcasm is finally rubbing off on you"
"You are in deep shit" he said.
"Tell me about it" I rolled my eyes and grabbed my phone from my bag.
For the first time in a really long while I decided to check my social media. There were tonnes of messages from my old friends. I sighed, this is going to be one helluva day.
My phone started to ring. Video call from Nancy.
"What up baby doll?"
"Don't call me that!" Nancy Drew frowned at me.
"Hi sugar!" Kimberly Alden's image popped on my screen and she squealed.
I laughed, "Hey sugarlicious"
"I've missed you soooo much!" Kim said.
"Someone made new friends and completely forgot her besties" Nancy said grumpily.
