The door to Abel's house opened and Abel was being dragged out of the house by a guy only a few few years older.
I glanced at Gold who was hiding behind a flower with Jake and Justin. She met my gaze and turned back to Abel.

"That's Paul, Abel's elder brother" Elijah whispered, the heat of his breathe hitting the back of my ear causing me to hold my breathe.

Goosebumps spread over my skin.
I nodded my head and tried to ignore how much Elijah's proximity was affecting me.

"Paul! Let me go!" Abel forcefully pulled away from his brother's grip, "I'm not going with you!"

"I'm the judge of that!" Paul said and continued dragging him.

"Enough!" Abel shouted and suddenly pushed the guy with such force that made him stumble and fall.

The guy managed to support part of his upper body with his arms.
He quickly turned to look at Abel and both of them stared at each other in shock.
"Did you just_"

"Paul I don't want this life" Abel begged almost in tears.

In a flash Paul got up and forcefully connected his fist with Abel's jaw.
I heard cracking of bones and Abel fell on the floor and hit his head.
"You'll get back in there and get yourself ready before I come back!" Paul roared and turned around to leave.
His eyes were blood red and that was when I realized, he was high on some drug.

Elijah stood up to run to Abel but me and Davis were quick enough to hold him back. Davis was doing most of the work. Not like I would stand a chance against Elijah.
"Patience, Kings. Patience" Davis gritted quietly.

Paul looked in our direction like he had seen something but shook his head and walked into the car that was in front of the porch.
As he approached the gates, it opened automatically and he zoomed off.

Abel lay on the floor for a while.

"Let's go and help him" Jake whispered.

"Wait" Justin placed a hand on his shoulder to stop him. "We don't want him knowing we saw this"

Gold nodded her head in agreement.

"Look at me" Elijah said calmly to me.

I looked at him and he held my chin keeping my face up.
"Why are you being weird?" I eyed him suspiciously.
My heart hammered in my chest as I looked into his eyes. Breathing was becoming increasingly difficult. I was annoyed with myself for letting an arrogant arse like Elijah have this kind of effect on me but I was loving how making skin to skin contact felt.

"Guys! Let's go!" Gold whisper yelled.

Elijah and Davis exchanged weird looks and Davis nodded.
Elijah quickly stood up and pulled me away from the spot we were at.
I tried to pull away but he dragged me till we were a few metres away then he turned me around as if to see something behind us.
Davis quickly bent down and picked something rope-like from the ground then threw it over the fence.

My eyes widened in realization.
I died a hundred times, literally.
"Snake!" I squeaked but Elijah already clamped his hand over my mouth.

"Calm down. It's gone" he whispered.

"Guys!" Gold hollered.
She was already walking towards the porch with Justin and Jake.

"Come on" Elijah tugged my hand gently.

We all walked to the porch. Elijah was the one who pushed the door open.

"What are you guys doing here?" Abel questioned angrily.

"Thanks for the warm welcome" Gold said drily, "Where can we seat?" she asked looking around.

The lounge was huge with high ceiling.
