Today...is a rather important day.
(Y/N) spent her previous days working overtime just so she can really enjoy the near future to the fullest, as well as get enough reast after.
Because today is the date that marks the start of the school's retreat.
It was one of the few things she's always looked forward to in school. And now, in a place where she wasn't surrounded by fake-ass people with their forced smiles, she was about an eighty-percent sure she will enjoy the retreat.
For some reason, though, Daniel was so dressed up. She almost felt ashamed that she walked to school with him.
"Are you going to a photoshoot or on a bus ride?" she hisses to him.
Her brother had the nerve to look genuinely confused. "But I just followed the guide Jay gave me?"
"Why the hell does your wardrobe even need a guide?"
"Well..."
Oh, right. He's hopeless when it comes to fashion.
(Y/N) all but rushed inside the bus just so she can get a spot next to the window. Whoever will be sitting next to her...well, it shouldn't matter, right?
She witnessed Daniel attempt to sit in the front as he was used to doing in middle school. Refraining a snort, she was unsurprised when the other waved him to sit in the back.
Mira was sitting directly behind (Y/N). It was obvious, since she can also hear Yui's voice and feel someone kicking the backrest.
Before she can plug her ears to listen to music, someone appeared to her sude, fiddling nervously.
"Uhm..." the short boy with glasses started, eyes flitting nervously from side to side. "There's no other seat so..."
She looked a bit closer to him. This one is recognizeable to her, at least. Wasn't he one of the few that sometimes hang around her brother during lunch?
"Sure, do whatever," she shrugged. "But I get the window seat."
"T-that's fine!"
He seemed almost terrified as he takes the other vacant chair next to her. (Y/N) nonchalantly scrolled through her Pattify playlist, trying to see which song she should play to set her mood.
A few minutes has passed and she realized the student hmnext to her still hasn't relaxed.
What a bother...
"So," she started. "What's your name again?"
"Jiho Park!"
"Jiho..." she repeated, (e/c) eyes glancing at the nervous boy. "You're way too used to being a bread shuttle, don't you think?"
The flinch told her everything she needs to know.
"You know, if you don't want to be a loser, you should quit acting like one."
"It's not that easy!" he argued back immediately. "It's not like I don't try! Everyone just ignores me because I'm not handsome or cool like everyone else..."
But then he slapped a hand to his mouth as if he just realized what he said. Jiho's eyes behind his glasses were wide.
"Forget it."
"Is that really it?" she frowned at him. "You know, I noticed your school life has been half-decent lately with my brother hanging around you. But how come you're still like this?"
"That's because-"
"You're with the 'cool kid' now. But why're you still so unconfident? Why don't you seize this time to better yourself, or something?"
