There is only one way to drown out the loud, chaotic noise of a bus. And that is to jam her earbuds on her ears and make sure to blast her music to full volume.

It was the first time in years that she's actually spending time again with her adoptive father's side of the family. She's met them once, during the first two years she's been adopted. But considering how much she distrusted them then, she never really actually interacted with them properly.

The next years after were spent in Seoul, and some with Hostel. Last year was just at home.

Sometimes, (Y/N) wonders what they'd thought whenever she failed to show up. But the thought doesn't last long enough anyway.

There was loud barking when they'd reached the place.

She hasn't been here enough, so everything feels as foreign as it probably had during the last times she's visited. The girl can hear the loud barking of the dog, volume rising as they approach the house. She later sees it tied up.

Clearly, no one has been cleaning the house. That's not very hygienic.

Mom and Daniel both entered the house first, the latter carrying most of the bags. The remaining ones he can't carry anymore are with the other two he's with.

She can hear loud voices from inside.

"We just got here too."

"You're late!"

(Y/N) peeks inside. Her presence immediately drew eyes to her.

"Oh? The other one is here too."

She awkwardly shuffles inside with the bags. The (h/c) haired girl wishes the floor would open up and swallow her whole.

"So! Have you been doing well, Daniel?"

Said teen looks startled to be addressed. "Yes..."

"Comment allez vous?"

"Eh?"

"Tsk tsk...you don't study at all, do you?"

All three of them stood uncomfortably in the doorway as the rest of their relatives start talking about their children. (Y/N) sighs. This was probably why she hadn't wanted to come the past days.

"Dad, stop it," a girl on the corner said, with a lit mosquito coil next to her.

She looks as if she doesn't even want to be there. (Y/N) found herself relating. Maybe a little too much.

The two girls simultaneously cringed when another person stepped inside the room. This was probably Dylan, the same person his parents were bragging about.

He has his hood up, for some reason. Saying something about swag and playing BUBG.

"Why are all my nephews fat?!" the drunk uncle cried out as he leans back. "Don't you do any exercise?!"

(Y/N) had a brief flashback to the days Daniel tried to exercise with Vasco. She's heard from the architecture dept's president how that went. Especially since he still gets teary-eyed over the slightest mention of the banana.

Anyway, all of them were shoved into one room as soon as the adults decided to finally get up and away from the entrance.

The boys ended up playing uno in the corner. (Y/N) sat a meter and a half away from the only other girl, trying to distract herself by focusing on the flavor of the lollipop in her mouth.

She then happens to catch sight of the face on her cousin's screen. It was the face of Daniel's other body.

She almost let a snicker slip.
