The next morning, I was still slightly lightheaded. I turned around to look at the clock, only to find out it was already two in the afternoon.

"You gotta be fucking kidding me." I groaned as I stared at the ceiling.

This habit wasn't normal, especially because I slept over twelve hours and still felt exhausted. There was something off with me.

I slowly sat up, barely recalling what had happened last night. All I remember was losing my balance and Zalgo caught me before I fell. It was a huge coincidence that he arrived on time.

I furrowed my eyebrows as I was lost in thought. When I angered Zalgo on the first day, he mentioned something about speeding up a process. I couldn't help but feel he's the reason why I haven't been feeling well.

After I got ready, I figured Zalgo would be in the throne room. I was barely a few feet away from the room when I heard his yells throughout the hallway. His minions were about to open the doors for me but I signaled them to stop. I wanted to eavesdrop on what he was talking about.

"Your highness, I don't think-"

"Zip it or else I'll tell Zalgo to kill you both," I warned them. "You know he's capable of doing it if I have a say."

For a second, I enjoyed the feeling of authority over them. I was surprised that it worked in the first place. Both of them nodded before taking a step back. This gave me the chance for me to listen clearly.

"We need to kill them immediately! I won't allow them to put my plan at stake!" Zalgo's voice boomed across the room.

Another person responded, but I couldn't hear what they said. Their voice was too soft.

Zalgo chuckled before speaking, "I'm technically not breaking the promise if Y/N doesn't find out, am I right?"

I scrunch my nose with anger before slamming the doors open. Zalgo was sitting on his throne with a smirk while the hooded figure side-eyed me. He turned toward Zalgo to get his approval to leave. Zalgo nodded at him before standing up. The hooded figure looked at me again before disappearing.

"Your beloved has returned to you, my darling!" Zalgo announced as he spread his arms out.

"We had a fucking deal!" I snapped, stopping below the stairs to his throne. "We agreed I would stay here and you would not hurt them!"

Zalgo rolled his eyes before crossing his arms in front of his chest and looked below at me with his signature smirk.

"You tried to escape the first time." He reminded me.

"Because I didn't remember the deal at that time plus you destroyed the pillars so I can't escape! You shouldn't be talking because you killed Zen and hurt Ben!"

"Zen wasn't part of our deal and technically Ben wasn't hurt." He grinned before stepping up to his throne. "But you're right. I shouldn't kill them." He turned around and gave me a sinister look. "But you should."

I growled. "The hell are you talking about! You know I wouldn't agree to something like that."

He sat on the throne before leaning in. "Trust me Y/N, that I know. I do hope you're feeling better considering you fainted in my arms last night."

I then remembered the reason I was here in the first place.

"You did something to me, didn't you? That's why I've been oversleeping and I keep on feeling weak at night!"

"I'm surprised it took you this long to figure it out." He leaned back on his throne before grabbing a golden cup with pomegranates. "Have you noticed that you don't pull away when I embrace you?"
