After the battle, I quickly showered to freshen up before heading toward Slenderman's office. Trender made me my favorite warm drink seeing as the temperature drastically dropped.

I watched as the rain droplets hit the window while the wind grew stronger; a storm had arrived. It seemed as if the world was affected by Zalgo's death because all of a sudden, the sky turned red as if there was an apocalypse. We knew it wasn't the end of the world just as others might believe. The bodies of the dead souls evaporated which could be the reason for the sky's appearance. We didn't know much about the under realm so we could only make assumptions.

I slowly took a sip of my warm drink before leaning back on the chair. So many things have happened in a matter of days, and it was hard to accept I was back in the mansion and that Zen and Zalgo were dead. For years I believed Zalgo dying by my hands would make me satisfied, but I felt the complete opposite. I felt numb as if I wasn't me anymore. A part of me died when Zen took his last breath.

I heard the door open from behind but I didn't bother to look. I knew it was Slenderman and his brothers based on the sound of their footsteps. I wasn't sure if I was ready for their questions.

Offenderman placed a hand on my right shoulder to comfort me before sitting on the edge of the table on my right side. Splendor sat on my left while Trender sat across Offender. Slenderman was still weak, but he was able to sit on his chair without a problem.

"How are you feeling, child?"

I still wasn't used to Slenderman being this gentle to me which still caught me off guard. For years we had a master and proxy relationship that I would have never thought he would eventually care for my wellbeing. His questions always involved missions and my training. Never did he ever ask about my health or emotions. I was taught to ignore them after all.

Taking a deep breath, I was unsure how to answer his question. "I feel as if I'm still in hell," I confessed, keeping my gaze on my cup.

Slenderman nodded his head. "That's understandable. We're so glad we were able to bring you back to us."

I slowly looked up at him. "I told you I didn't want to return."

"Y/N-"

"Can we change topics? I don't want to talk about this yet."

As much as the Slender brothers wanted to disagree, Slenderman nodded his head.

"Very well then, I don't know where to start though."

I sat up straight, maintaining eye contact with him.

"Let's start from the very beginning. Did you kill my ancestors because of the prophecy?"

Slenderman kept quiet as all the attention was on him. I noticed Splendor looking down while the others were avoiding looking at me.

"Yes."

I sighed as I looked up at the ceiling. I imagined how many of them were killed and possibly tortured by him and all the other immortals who felt threatened. This was all because a stupid oracle couldn't keep her mouth shut. I bet she knew my ancestors would have been violently murdered by the others.

"I meant it when I said I didn't kill your parents, Y/N."

"I know. Zen killed them to prove his loyalty to you, but he couldn't bring himself to kill me."

"Which I still don't understand why he refused."

I swallowed the urge of wanting to cry as I shut my eyes. I remembered how Zen confessed he was my brother before he died. I suspected no one knew he was my brother with the exception of Zalgo.
