"But you see, Niki, that there is the problem. It is impossible for there to not be a hierarchy. Sure, maybe in smaller groups you can live without them, but not in a society with this big of a population." Jack looks at his friend, seeing as her facial expression switches from the one to the other. Eret is sitting at the table as well, watching the two argue while he himself has nothing to add yet.

Considering that Jack was the one to lead the revolution that led to Schlatt's death, and both Niki and Eret helped him with this, the three of them now have the responsibility of finding a new and better way to properly lead the City. Only problem? Niki and Jack cannot agree on anything. Now, they used to be friends, a very long time ago, but not everything lasts forever, and unfortunately, their ability to have a discussion without it getting too heated has already run out. As has Jack's patience.

Once, the two of them even got into an argument about you. Niki came to visit him after a very long time of not having spoken to him, and she kept on talking about you. Now, Jack mourned you too. Of course he did. You were a friend and you just threw yourself off the building, something that both saddened and angered him. He thought you were doing better. He thought your sessions with your therapist actually helped. He really believed that you were doing better. And then to hear you just killed yourself without second thought? He felt betrayed. And maybe it sounds selfish, but who cares? Because he surely doesn't.

But what even hurt him more, was when Niki talked about your death as if you ever were to return. As if you didn't actually die. Jack was very quick to accept your death, but knowing that Niki just refuses to acknowledge that you're gone, makes it harder for him to deal with it.

"With all due respect, Jack, but since when do you know everything about how a society is supposed to be led?"

"I could ask you the same thing," Jack responds, squeezing his eyes so that he looks through his eyelids. Eret lets out a sigh.

"Seems like I'm the only one here with a bit of knowledge, huh?" At moments like this, Eret wishes Herobrine was still alive to help him out with this. His death, in the end, was what led to the council of the leaders falling apart and giving up their job. And now, they have to figure out how to deal with this.

"Eret? Are you there?" Puffy's voice sounds over the small speaker in the conference room, sounding oddly shaky. It seems like she's filled with shock or confusion or panic or something negative.

"Yes, Puffy, what is going on?" Eret asks while Niki and Jack continue fighting peacefully and Puffy continues, her voice sounding higher than usual.

"I think Y/N just walked into the building." And before Eret can react or say anything else, he can hear Jack and Niki scream even louder as they almost attack each other physically. As the two shout so loud that Eret can't even understand what they're saying anymore, he stands up and comes to stand in between them, which doesn't stop the aggression. That is, until the doors open. Everybody's eyes fly to the intruder and Niki, grabbing a weapon out of her pocket, throws a knife in the direction of the person, who is saved by the simple impulse of stepping aside, while the other stranger lets out a scream as it gets a bit too close to him for his comfort. Niki's first target simply chuckles.

"I said it, didn't I?" the target says with a smirk to the man who just got the fright of his life. "Internal conflict."

"Puffy was right," Eret mumbles as Niki's jaw drops. Jack too seems to be unable to see who just entered the room so casually, although he most likely just doesn't want to accept it.

"You just almost got killed, Y/N!" the other man screams as the young adult behind them takes the knife out of the wall and looks at it confusedly.

"Let's put that as a day on the agenda, shall we? First assassination attempt on me, I am so honoured. But to get back to the subject at hand..."
