Technoblade is reading through some books, wanting to pass time until the Summer Feast is over. Together with Dream and Wilbur, he's sitting in the place that they call their home, waiting for the others to come back.
Honestly, Technoblade still doesn't like the fact that Wilbur and his creation are now involved in the war against the Egg and its cult. Even if the pig considers Dream to be a good and valuable ally, while Wilbur is a man more dangerous than any of them combined, thanks to his unpredictability, they still don't seem to be taking the threat seriously enough. Wilbur constantly jokes about having met the Egg already and it not being as dangerous as everybody makes it out to be, while Dream is constantly saying that it shouldn't be that hard to just be unaffected by its influence. It's quite bothersome. It makes Technoblade feels like he's crazy, overreacting to the situation unlike the people he was once imprisoned with.
Not only that, but Wilbur saying that 'he met the Egg' is just pushing his limits. Techno and his brother are obviously not as closed as they once used to be, but at this point, Wilbur may as well be only here for the sake of spite. Of course, Technoblade knows that the previous owner of the DeMeter company is only here because of you, but the more bullshit that comes out of his mouth makes him think that he's punishing Technoblade for something, even if there's really not that much thought put behind his actions.
Techno sighs. He hates the fact that the both of them are now aware of his regrowing friendship with Tommy. Obviously, Dream already hates the little guy, probably because of his brotherly relationship with you, and just because he can be quite a nuisance. And Wilbur is just an ass, really. At least he's not that arrogant anymore, so maybe that's a start.
"Do you think they were right when they said that they're going to meet the Egg today?" Dream suddenly asks, making both the twins look at him right away. Honestly, Techno doesn't doubt your conclusion in any way. Oh no, it's the event after that he's scared of.
He finds it easy to believe that the Egg will indeed meet you at a day like this. Sally's birthday is today, after all, so June the 28th will not exactly be a positive day for you. However, he is more scared of your determination that the Egg will not influence you. Even if it will not get you to join it, he's still certain that it will affect you in one way or another, most likely negatively. What if you'll end up turning against the Syndicate and the people who are willing to fight next to you? What if you consider them to be your enemy?
"I'm sure of it!" Wilbur exclaims, a manic look in his eyes. "How could they be wrong, after all?" Techno honestly did not expect this much energy. Why would he, after all? Wilbur too once loved Sally, or at least, cared for her, even if it wasn't as much love as it was desire for a relationship. Technoblade doesn't really know his situation, nor the way he and Sally had lived with each other. All he knows, from Tommy, is that the relationship was not as healthy as it could've been. Should've been.
"They could be wrong," Technoblade argues, but Wilbur refuses to believe it.
"How could they be wrong?"
"They're human, Wilbur," Dream reminds him naively. "Their opinions are based on their own subjective beliefs and flaws, not on pure facts or smart calculations."
"Oh? Remind me who was the person to create a list of people to be most compatible with them, then?" When Wilbur speaks these words, Dream falls silent for a bit, before explaining himself.
"That list was formed on objective information," he starts, but Wilbur doesn't let him speak.
"Nonsense. If it were, you wouldn't have been put so highly. Besides, what exactly do you know of them for you to be able to make a list like that, huh?"
