Chapter 10 - Heartbreak

"Draco..?" You approached Draco at the table slowly.

"F*ck off." He said, stabbing his pancake.

You looked at Blaise with a questioned face. He shrugged.

A girl sitting across from Draco turned to you.

"Hey.. (y/n) right?" She asked. She was really nice for a Slytherin.

"Yeah, and you are?"

"Pansy Parkinson. Nice to meet you." She said.

She motioned for you to get down and you arched yourself forwards.

She put her mouth near your ear and started whispering to you.

"I'm not sure what happened to Draco but it seems he's been crying." You glimpsed at Draco and indeed his eyes were very red. He was still looking down but you could clearly tell.

"He wasn't like this until he stormed off earlier." You got up and looked at Pansy.

"What happened?" You asked.

"Well you left the great hall and Potter was running after you. Draco got up and pushed him to the floor then seemed to be going after you. When he returned he was like this already." She said, still remaining a soft whisper.

"Draco." You said, looking at him.

"Hm?" He hummed.

You didn't respond. You were waiting for him to look up.

"What do you want (l/n)?!" He said furious, finally looking at you with rage.

"Nevermind." His eyes were really red. More than you imagined. He stared back down and started poking his pancake again.

"Thank you, Pansy." You said and walked off.

Y/n pov

I've never seen Draco like this..

Why was he crying? What happened while I was gone?

I walked back to my seat and continued eating my lunch, still worried for Draco.

Draco pov

I feel stupid. (Y/n) was tricking me to look up. I'm sure I looked like I've been crying.

I don't know what to do. I feel dead inside.

It had been nearly a week since you talked with Draco. He avoided you everytime you got close.

Meanwhile Cedric and you were having a lovely time together.

You were still worried about Draco.

Today was finally your chance.

Potions.

Cedric walked you to class and you kissed him goodbye.

You took your seat and waited for Draco patiently.

You waited.. and waited..

The door opened and you immediately turned your head, hoping to see Draco.

It was Snape.

"Where's Mr. Malfoy?" He asked you.

You shook your head, starting to get worried sick.

"Sorry professor."

Draco!

You turned your head again, and finally saw your Slytherin friend. You were relieved he was okay.

He took his seat next to you. Not making eye contact.

"Draco.. stop avoiding me.."

He didn't look at you, in fact he looked far more away from you.

"Draco.. what's wrong?"

You saw him look down and a small drop of water came running down. He was crying.

You took his hand and held it tightly, attempting to comfort him. He clenched onto you and started sobbing quietly.

You looked at Snape and signaled to let you two leave the classroom before someone finds out.

He nodded his head and mouthed to you 'you owe me one'

"Ah. It seems I left my book in my office. Malfoy, (l/n), could you please get it for me?"

"Sure professor." You pulled Draco by the wrist, running out of the classroom so no one would notice him crying.

By the time you left the classroom, Draco looked at you shocked.

You pulled him in for a hug and he hesitated.

"(Y/n)..?" He asked, voice shaking.

"Shhh. I'm here for you Draco." You put your hand in his hair and ruffled it a bit.

"F-F*ck off.." He said, although hugging you tighter.

You felt your robe getting wet, tears were falling down onto your robe. You didn't care.

Draco pov

I'm not weak! Why am I crying?!!

I couldn't stand just looking into her eyes.

She's being really sweet about all this.

Damn it Draco! Shut up and stop crying!

"(Y/n)..?" I asked her, my voice was trembling.

"Shhh. I'm here for you Draco." She said, ruffling my hair. She's here.. for me.

"F-F*ck off.." I replied, gripping onto her tighter than ever. I'm not sure if she could even breathe.

Why am I like this.. why does she do this to me?
