Chapter 24 - Dumbledore's Army

"An army?" You questioned.

"Yeah! We need to learn how to defend ourselves!" Hermione said.

"But- defense against the dark arts-"

"They're not even teaching us anything!" She protested.

And she had a point. Nothing useful was being taught.

"But we aren't seriously going to just ask Harry to teach us, are we?" You asked, still unsure of the whole defense gang.

"What else are we supposed to do?"

"Well-" You fell silent, knowing you weren't winning this argument.

"Alright, I'm in."

It was yet another day of training with the Dumbledore's Army.

Harry was teaching everyone how to perform a patronus charm.

You looked around at all the struggling faces, silently laughing at the fact you knew even more.

"Stop laughing at us (Y/n), you haven't even tried." Fred protested.

"I don't need to Weasel boy." You replied in a joking tone.

"Oh yeah?"

He stared you down with a smirk on his face.

"Are you challenging me?" You asked, lifting an eyebrow.

"Maybe."

"Oh, you're on."

Ever since your birthday, you had become closer with the twins, joking around with them more often.

On the other hand, Draco had been avoiding you around everyone, as if you were ruining his image.

"Go on then. See if it's so easy." Fred said.

At this point, George and a few other students had joined to watch the show.

"Expecto patronum!"

A blue beam of light shot out from the tip of your wand, revealing your patronus animal, a doe.

Everyone gathered around you, gaping in awe.

Harry out of everyone, was most fascinated.

It was his mother's patronus.

It was also Snape's.

You smiled lightly at what you just did as you turned to Fred, a smug look appearing across your face.

"I win."

A few days later

There he was. Draco Malfoy.

Smirking, standing behind Umbridge with his gang.

He hasn't noticed you yet, but seeing as he betrayed all of you, you didn't want him to notice.

You told him about the army already, he promised to keep it a secret.

So, why.

Why did he do this.

Your eyes were fuming with anger, tears started to form.

You stood at the very back of the crowd, hoping Draco wouldn't notice.

"F*ck you. I thought you changed." You muttered under your breath.

Fred and George noticed your unease, and as Umbridge left with the others, they walked over to you.

"(Y/n), you okay?" George asked.

Fred placed a hand on your shoulder and gave it a slight pat.

"I'm fine guys. Don't worry." You smiled lightly, quickly wiping away your tears.

"We weren't born last night (Y/n). You've been staring at Malfoy ever since he got to the room of requirements with his little gang." Fred said, rolling his eyes at his name.

"Something's up with you two." George added.

The two stayed silent and stared you down as you looked at them back and forth.

"Promise not to tell?" You snuffled.

"We promise." They said in sync.

You took a deep breath, letting out a soft sigh.

"We're dating."

"YOU'RE WHA-" Before Fred could say anything else, George bonked him in the head.

"Sorry, sorry. Blimey hell (Y/n)." He said.

"Is it that bad?" You asked, forcing a laugh.

"It's- no, it's just-" Fred stuttered.

"What Fred is trying to say, is that it's Malfoy." George said.

"So?"

"So?! He's not a good boyfriend (Y/n), betrayal is expected."

"George has a point. How long have you known him anyway?"

"I stayed at Malfoy Manor for the whole summer-"

"WHAT." This time, both the twins yelled in shock.

"Keep it down, you two. You're going to wake up the neighborhood." You snickered.

"Oh, haha, very funny."

You giggled in response.

"Look (Y/n), we aren't going to tell you what to do or whatnot. But please, take care of yourself and be careful." Fred started.

"But if he ever hurts you, don't be afraid to come to us. We'll help you handle him."

"You guys sound like serial killers right now."

"(Y/n). Don't make us end you first."

You blinked a few times, but ended up bursting into laughter as the twins joined.

"I'm lucky to have friends like you two."

Thank you for being patient!

To be honest, I'm starting to lose interest in writing.

Although I still have tons of ideas I want to share! So guess I'm still going to be here for a while.

I've also finally started to plan each chapter before writing now. And I'm glad to say that I still have lots of ideas for this book!

Year 5 and 6 might be shorter than 3 and 4 though, and I do apologize for that!
