RWBY: Omega

Chapter 6: Part 1

Me and Gabe stood back to back as more mechanical noises popped up. There was definitely more than one of these things. Just as I thought they were going to attack us, the noises suddenly stopped. However, we didn't lower our guard, they could be charging at us at this moment, or just waiting for us to make the first move.

So we did, or, I did.

"Jump!" I instructed Gabe, who immediately shot downward and went several meters upward. I held The Destroyer to my right and simultaneously pulled both triggers, which sent explosive Blazar particles in a full circle twice around me. The particles exploded as the made contact with the trees surrounding the clearing in which we were in, setting them ablaze.

Gabe landed behind me without a sound."Where are they?" He asked.

His question was answered with a louder mechanical noise and loud thuds accompanying each sound. We got ready to dodge whatever was coming at us.

However, what came out of the raging flames was not at all what we expected.

"That's an Atlesian Paladin!" Yelled Gabe, as the giant mech suit charged at us.

We dodged out of the way as it thundered past. I looked over at Gabe and gave him a quick nod. We both ran towards it while it was turning around to face us again. Gabe converted Gamma into its rifle mode and started shooting the sensors which dotted the Atlesian Paladin, making it more difficult for it to find us.

We took this chance to attack it, aiming for one of the legs to attempt to immobilize it.

Gabe got there first and hit it directly on the knee joint, causing it to split in two. But, it was still attached and it was still functioning, so I aimed for that same spot to completely render that leg useless.

As I got closer to my target, a different noise came up. It was that of a canon charging up and firing, at me. The projectile hit me in the side, which hurt terribly. It also launched me a good 60 feet away from where I was before the impact, saving the other Paladin.

I lay on the ground for a second before Gabe came over and helped me up.

"Dude! You okay?" He asked, worried.

"Yeah." I said, wincing at the pain,"I'll live."

The Paladin was now accompanied by two others, who were getting ready to blow us up with missiles.

"We need help, there's one more of them than there are of us, plus you're injured, you can't keep fighting the way you are now" Gabe said.

"Who says I can't?" I asked.

"I did!" He said.

A barrage of missiles launch from the Paladins towards us. Gabe converts Gamma into the dual pistols and shoots down half of them. I managed to swing The Destroyer and shoot some particles to get rid of the rest. The Paladins got ready to shoot us again.

"Dude! We gotta go." Gabe said.

"Alright, let's go!" I said. I hated to run from the battle, but my semblance can't heal me, it can only take energy and convert it into-Wait! That's it! I turn towards the Paladins,"What are you doing? Let's go!" Gabe yelled. I ignored him as I take whatever energy was in the Paladins. Unfortunately, I could only drain one of them and replenish myself and Gabe. The remaining Paladins hesitate but eventually shoot again.

Gabe shot down a few missiles, which caused a chain reaction of explosions and take out all of them. Miraculous!

"Yup, let's get out of here!" I said and started to run. My side still hurt, a lot, from the hit I took from earlier. I swear I'll get my revenge.

Gabe contacted Ruby asking them where they were.

"Uhh...we're busy fighting a giant robot with Torchwick in it!" Ruby responded.

"You too! Well, we're being chased by two of them!" Gabe told Ruby.

"Um...Okay, we're under the highway, look for...explosions." Ruby said.

"Explosions?!" Gabe asked.

"Yeah, in downtown Vale. Gotta go!" Ruby said and hung up.

"Well, at least we know where they are." I said.

Gabe's POV

We found team RWBY near the edge of Vale where we entered Forever Fall.

"Heeeeeyyyyy!" I yelled. All of team RWBY turned towards me and Omega. I land on the ground next to them. Omega caught up with me. Man, he's slow! But I can't blame him, he got shot in the side earlier so...

The two other Atlesian Paladins caught up with us and, as if they'd been told to do so, took up positions beside Torchwick's Paladin.

"Hey, Omega, you okay?" Yang asks.

"Yeah, don't worry, I just got shot!" Omega answered, sarcastically.

"Really?" Weiss asked.

"Yeah, he actually did get shot. It was funny." I said.

"You think its funny to be shot in the side?" Omega asked me.

"Nope...it's hilarious! Especially when it happens to you." I said.

"You know what? Just wait after this is over." Omega told me.

"Heh, okay." I said, slightly concerned.

The Paladins circled us for a few seconds. I wasn't sure if they were planning or waiting for us, but I wasn't about to just stand there.

I run towards the one on the left, which immediately began to shoot me with its canon. The projectiles were surprisingly easy to avoid. I guess Omega just didn't see it coming. I jumped up onto the cockpit of the Paladin and tried to shoot it. Of course, it didn't do anything but annoy the person inside who was controlling it, but that was the point.

Now, I had their attention and they're only going to attack me, which will help everyone a lot. One less opponent to worry about.

I ran from it behind one of the pillars supporting the highway, as it came running at me, I noticed that this was the one that Omega was trying to attack earlier, but you know, he got shot before he could.

"Here's your revenge." I said, to myself and kind of to Omega.

I turned on my semblance, which is hyperactivity. My senses are stronger and my speed is tripled. The Paladin was still at least a hundred feet away, I targeted the broken joint on the Paladin's left leg and sprinted with all my speed towards it. I veered to the right and swung Gamma to the right. The whole thing happened in less than a second.

I turned around and the Paladin's leg from the knee joint down was completely obliterated. A clean slice. The Paladin was pretty much immobilized now, but it could still shoot. Taking out its weapons shouldn't be a problem now. I sprinted towards it again, crossing the distance of 30 feet in a split second, jumped and landed on top of it. I shot all the canons and missile launchers on it, some of them were about to go off.

I got off of it and went back to my original position, the Paladin exploded behind me and everyone turned to look. It was difficult to not look at the explosion, but I managed and ended up looking badass.

"One down!" I yelled, and joined up with Omega and team RWBY to take out the two remaining Paladins, one of which, contained Roman Torchwick. If we could take him out now, the White Fang will be unable to do anything. At least, until they find a new leader.
