We've gone past 450k 🥹 Honestly, I was expecting that to happen by the end of the year, not this early. Thank you so much for the continuous love and for that, I'll be posting some bonus chapters for this story 😉

Enjoy!

I quickly ran up the grand staircase, holding up the hem of the long silk bathrobe I was wearing as I hurriedly went to where Milo was. I was getting ready and putting on my makeup in my room when he sent me a series of texts, most of which were complete gibberish with a mix of red exclamation marks.

My hair was still pinned up and when I passed by Pierre earlier, I flashed him a glare before he could open his mouth to laugh. I was heaving by the time I reached the corridor that held Milo's room, briefly seeing his mother that was talking with one of his aunts.

"Everything okay, dear?" She called and I showed her a shaky smile before slowing my steps, not wanting to panic her.

"Yes, Mrs. Ford! Just need to get a few things from Milo." I replied before immediately pushing open his bedroom door and closing it behind me. Milo was sitting outside at the balcony dressed in a white undershirt and black slacks, the view of the gardens in front of him. "Okay, what do you need?" I asked and his head whipped around to turn to me.

"You look stupid." He said as he eyed my feet and I looked down to see I was only wearing one slipper.

I shrugged my shoulders and threw it behind me before taking the other seat beside him. "Is it your suit?" I asked and he shook his head. "Something with Ace?" No again. I huffed, crossing my arms over my chest as I leaned back and watched Milo. He was playing with his fingers, eyes roaming the grounds in front of him as we were wrapped in silence. He was almost ready, only the top portion of his suit and his shoes missing. "I can have a car ready in five minutes." I said without hesitation and he met my eyes, a look of surprise on his face. "I can call Olivia right now and have a flight ready to leave for L.A. You don't have to go through with this if you don't want to. I'm sure they will understand— well, except for Ace— but it'll be okay. Just say the word and we'll be out of here before the other guests could even arri—"

"Babe, stop." Milo said and I halted my rambling to see him with an amused smile on his face.

"Stop talking so that we can leave or just stop?" I asked, growing confused myself.

Milo chuckled before running a hand through his hair and pulling me into a hug. I returned it and I felt him squeeze me before pulling away, eyes glassy with tears. "I'm so thankful you're my best friend." He said and I could feel myself growing emotional as well.

"You're going to ruin my makeup." I groaned when I felt a tear roll down my cheek. It's a good thing I haven't put on any eyeshadow or eyeliner because I'd be looking like a panda right now.

"It's not your wedding day so get over it." He replied and I couldn't help but laugh. "By the way, don't tell Navi I said you're my best friend because she'll become jealous." He joked but we both knew she wouldn't feel that way. I'm both of their best friends and they are both mine.

I wiped away the tear that slid down his cheek and linked my arm with his, pulling him back into the room. "What happened?"

"Just the usual jitters." He sighed, pouring two glasses of champagne that had been set for him. "Ace and I have been together for five years, four of which have been known to the public, but I still find myself worrying about what other people would think."

"That's bullshit." I bluntly said and he raised an amused eyebrow at my foul language. "You're one of the strongest people I know. You literally stood beside Ace like a bodyguard when you guys came out. If anyone had something to say about your relationship, you wouldn't be one to back down."
