4000+ WORDS OF ONE OF MY FAVORITE STORIES :D

nightmare and killer are struggling to cope with adjusting n all, horror and dust are doing their best and putting big effort in, but cross is having the worst time of them all

night and killer might need a minute, but cross'll need at least a month

good thing his pregnancie won't last longer than a month

---------

Cross spent 8 days in Sci's AU. With such a fragile line to hold, the doctor had refused to let Cross leave. "He is not stable yet, and unless you want the child's max HP to fall dramatically, you will wait." So they did.

They took turns, coming in pairs to watch over Cross while the other two stayed behind. Doing what, Sci couldn't tell, but their conversations gave him enough info to find that they were 'preparing the castle'. It was only then that the reality of the situation sank in, leaving him sitting stiff in front of his computer screen with his fingers frozen mid-keystroke. The Dark Sans, Nightmare's Gang, the most hostile and cruel group of monsters in their multiverse, were going have a child. And they were preparing for it, like they actually wanted it. [It took a solid minute of cursing for the shock to pass.] As questionable as the gang was, it was shocking that they'd become parents like this out of the blue.

[Some of them are even excited to have this child. Horror's tender expression the day before flickered in his mind.]

Horror and Dust were today's duo. They both eyed Sci silently when he walked in, their glares sharpening as he began fiddling with the machines. "What are you doing," Dust muttered after a long silence. Sci shot them both a look, scowling. "What does it look like? I'm taking them off." Horror straightened, his head tilting. "you.. mean it's...?"

Cross's soul vanished the moment it was free of IV's and cables, the exact sign Sci had hoped for. Trading his scowl for a grin, Sci confirmed, "Cross can leave now." Dust, while Horror seemed pleased, wasn't as excited. "What happened to his soul." Sci waved Horror over instead of answering, "Come here. I want you to do something." He had a feeling that the bigger monster would like what he was about to discover.

[The way Horror was quick to obey reminded Sci of a puppy. It was times like these when it was easy to forget that Horror was one of the most feared Sanses in the Multiverse.] Horror stared down at him curiously, though still wary, but Sci simply motioned for him to come closer. "Put your hand here." Horror immediately lit up, everything clicking in that instant, and Sci swore he could see stars in the other's eyelight. Giddily, Horror set his— rather large—hand on Cross's stomach, right on top of the small swell. A baby bump, Sci mused to himself. That's what human's liked to call it.

Horror's smile was something to behold. Sci blinked at it, taken aback that this literal villain could make such an expression. He was practically beaming with sheer joy, his smile so wide that it had his eyesockets scrunching up. The noise he made, too, was a shock. Some guttural, low sound that had Dust perking up. It hit a moment later that Horror was purring.

Sci suddenly felt extremely out of place, like he was trespassing on something. Indeed, the scathing glare Dust shot him said as much. He wasn't welcome anymore, not now. Sci stepped away, ducking his head, the threat in Dust's eyes much more real now. "I'll, uh. I'll return shortly to double check his vitals, and then you can go." He didn't expect a response, nor did he get one. Dust watched him unfalteringly, up until Sci had closed the door.
