"Dust!!! Dust, hurry and come here!!" The shout startled him so badly, that he dropped his phone and spilled his bowl of pretzels in his rush to stand. Blue shouted louder, and Dust sprinted into the hallway, trying to figure out where his husband was. "HURRY!!" Dust whipped around, his magic lighting up as he charged towards the cry.

"Blue?!" He burst into the nursery, knife in hand, ready to attack any threats, only to find Blue kneeling with his arms outstretched. A proud gleam in his eye lights, Blue waved him over. "Look..!" Dust let out a breath, his knife disappearing, and he crossed his arms. He looked at where Blue was staring, and jerked in place. There, on shaking legs, stood Sprinkle. The child babbled cheerfully at the sight of his father, his dual-colored eye lights twinkling with concentration and joy. "C'mon sweetie, you can do it..." Blue held his hands out again, beckoning to his son. Sprinkle giggled, waving a tiny fist at his mother. Dust shuffled over to crouch beside Blue and quietly gave his own words of encouragement. "C'mere kiddo.."

Sprinkle wobbled slightly, his brows furrowing cutely and his gaze sharpening into a glare. The child's stare lowered to his feet and a concentrated frown settled on his face. Shakily, the toddler lifted one foot and lurched forward. He stomped, eye lights brightening, and tried to do the same with his other foot. His hand let go of his grip, and he tipped over a bit, leaning too far to the side, and Dust tensed. Thankfully, Sprinkle somehow managed to right himself, and he stood a few seconds.

He looked up at Blue, a wide smile spreading, and he started walking forward awkwardly, his tiny arms raising and his hands making grabbing motions. He squealed as he missed a step and toppled forward. Dust lunged, catching the child before he hit the floor and checking him over. Sprinkle wasn't bothered at all, clapping and laughing at the funny face his dad was making. When his son was unharmed, Dust relaxed and grinned at Blue, who had stood up and moved to stand in front of Dust.

"That was exciting." Blue held his finger up to Sprinkle, letting him suckle his fingertip as he smiled. "He's growing so fast." Dust chuckled, "Soon, he's gonna be cursing and throwing knives at people."

"Dust!" He cackled.

I was gonna write a scene where Sprinkle says his first word, but I lost motivation for this and gained it for another idea.

Sorry bros. I might do it later, but i'm not sure.
