Error screamed, thrashing as if he were being attacked. He was choking, clawing at his skull, begging them to stop. The voices screamed back and the strings around his soul grew tighter. Error howled as a crack echoed through his chest, his hands flying away from his head to his chest. His shirt tore, sternum beginning to bleed under the harsh scratching.

GET UP AND DO YOUR JOB
YOU'RE SO PATHETIC
CRYING? AGAIN?
YOU IDIOT, THE BALANCE-
YOU BASTARDS ARE-
FATE WILL BE ANGRY
GUYS, STOP-
AAAAHHHHHHHHH

MURDERER

THIS IS BEING LAZY!

GET UP ALREADY!!

"SHUT UP, PLEASE JUST-!!" Another crack, and his eyelights vanished. A sound burst from him, tearing through his throat and pushing up blood through his teeth. The ground was splattered with blue, the specks slowly growing into a puddle.

INK'S CREATING AGAIN
GET UP AND DO YOUR JOB
ERROR
ERROR
YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE FIGHTING INK RIGHT NOW
ERROR
ERROR HURRY UP

Ink..? Error curled in on himself slightly, fists tight and sockets fluttering. Ink. The creator. Gasping, Error forced himself to stand. Ink was the protector and creator of aus. His knees shook, ankles bending as he stumbled forward. He shakily reached out, hand quivering as he willed a portal to form. Protector... Creator... Error lurched, groaning as the voices grew louder. They'd picked up on his idea.

NO
ERROR NO
INK'S NOT SUPPOSED TO KNOW
YOU IDIOT
STOP IT
NO YOU CAN'T

Error wiped his mouth, panting heavily. If Ink was the protector of aus, then he could help Error. That was something Ink preached about constantly, that if Error stopped destroying, he'd help him. He wasn't destroying right now, so maybe, just maybe Ink would help him. His vision blurred as he tipped over, falling into the portal limply. He hit a hard surface with a grunt.

Shouting erupted around him, several people leaping away from him in surprise and fear. He'd interrupted one of Ink's meetings, it seems. Error winced as the strings tightened again, coughing on his own blood. This time, when he managed to hack it out, clumps of dust came out with the blood. Trembling, Error grabbed onto the edge of the table before him, hauling himself up with a pained sound. He hunched over, breathing heavily. Blood trickled down his chin, dripping onto the table. The Sans that were there stared at him, all of them ready for battle. Blasters hovered around Error, charging up. He swayed when he lifted his hand, his voice hoarse. "I..Ink-nk...Wh-Wh-Where-ere is-is he-e?.."

Crack!

Error flinched at the sound, gritting his teeth against the cry that tried to burst from him as pain pulsed through him. He opened his mouth to ask again, only to choke on the sound still lodged in his throat. It slipped free, a shout of pain that had several Sans twitching. Error rubbed his hand over his mouth, whispering his question again. "I-Ink-nk-k..?" Silence filled the room. Error weakly slammed his hand on the table, grimacing as it sent thrums of agongy through his body. "Tell-ell me damn-amnit-it!!" What was supposed to be a loud demand came out as a pleading whisper. It was the last straw, it seemed, for the voices and Fate. Strings zipped out through the ceiling and everywhere around him, tangling around his body and growing impossibly taut. Bones cracked and began to bleed as Error broke down into tears. Another voice spoke over his sobs. "What do you think you're doing? Breaking the rules? I've been lenient with you, but this is just unacceptable." Error was too weak to struggle, hanging his head as he cried. "I will tell you one last time, abomination." The strings pulled tighter, cutting through Error's bones.

"You are a tool for destruction. Nothing more. I put you here to destroy, not seek pity from my child's creations. And destroy you will. Understand? No more of this disgusting behavior. Stop your foolishness and do your job, or I will put an end to your miserable existence." Error couldn't breath, yet he managed to force out his acknowledgment. "Y-yes Fate-ate..."

He was released. Error collapsed on the floor in heap, muttering to himself as he curled into a ball. His body glitched spastically, all of his injuries disappearing in a flash of pixels. Error's soul still burned, the strings still horribly tight.

Something tapped his skull. He flinched, rearing his head back, remembering that he had an audience. Ink blinked down at him, his brow furrowed with worry and confusion. "Error?" Ink stepped back, startled, as Error shot to his feet. "Ink! What do you want?!" He tipped his head, "What was that all about? Who's Fate?" A cold feeling ran through Error's body.

"Shit."
