Autistic Laurance! This is actually based around my cousin who is autistic he's a lower functioning autistic boy and has a lot of speech problems and panics a lot at school. He usually hides under his desk when he gets freaked out and his teacher used to go next door to my sisters classroom to get her to calm him down. The teacher also couldn't understand him and instead of making an effort for him she would ignore him or go take him to my sister so she could 'translate' what he was saying. I made that romantic instead of cousin's and put it on my favorite ship lol

"Gene get down off that desk!" The teacher shouted. Laurance didn't know why the teacher had to yell. He didn't like yelling. Yelling was scary.

He quickly jumped off his chair, crawling under his desk. He covered his ears and started rocking back and forth.

"Laurance, get out of there now! What are you doing?" The  teacher scoffed.

"Shhhh, be quiet, too loud!" Laurance said, but with his heavy speech impediment, the teacher couldn't understand him.

"What?" The teacher sighed.

"Too loud!" Laurance shouted again.

"Class stay calm for a moment while I run next door," the teacher said, walking out the door. She knew that Laurance was good friends with Garroth and that Garroth could actually understand the undecipherable child. This wasn't the first time this had happened.

"Excuse me, hi, could I borrow Garroth Ro'meave for a few minutes?" She asked the teacher next door.

"Of course, we are just having a make up day anyways," Mr V smiled.

"Thank you," Mrs. Pesra returned the smile, leading Garroth to her classroom.

"Laurance is under that dang desk again," the teacher explained. Garroth frowned, immediately going to the boys desk when he enters the room.

"Hey Laur, what's going on today?" Garroth asks, moving the chair and kneeling in front of the desk.

"Too loud, yelling, too much yelling!" Laurance rushed out.

"Yeah? It can get really loud at school sometimes, huh? Why don't you and I go out in the hallway for a minute to calm down instead of under the desk, ok?" Garroth offered. The teacher had a look of bewilderment as he could actually understand what Laurance had said.

"Hallway? Hallway is quiet?" Laurance asked, glancing up at Garroth.

"Yeah, the hallway is quiet, here, you wanna take my hand so I can take you to the hallway?" Garroth smiled gently, reaching out a hand towards Laurance but not touching him, leaving space for him to deny the offer.

"Mhm," Laurance hummed, taking Garroths hand, Garroth helped coax him out from underneath the desk and took him into the hallway, where they sat on a bench together.

"There we go, is that better Laur?" Garroth asks.

"Better, thank you, Gar," Laurance breathed out, his senses finally calming down.

"I'm glad. I wish there was something more we could do for you, to prevent you from getting overwhelmed like that," Garroth sighed. Laurance laid his head on the blonds shoulder.

"Lord knows Pheonix Drop High isn't very accommodating," Laurance chuckles.

"Sadly, I mean Mes. Pesra doesn't even try to talk to you, she puts forth no effort," Garroth complained. Laurance just nodded.

"Well I mean, it's been like this for 4 years now, we're seniors now. We're almost out of this hellhole," Laurance shrugged.

"Its just bullcrap," Garroth shook his head. The bell rang and students flooded the halls.

"Here, let's grab our stuff and I'll walk you to your next class," Garroth said, hopping up off the bench, offering a hand to the other boy, who gladly accepted.

"You're a great friend Gar," Laurance smiled.

"Not as great as you, Laur," Garroth chuckled.

Hi guys! Author here! This is NOT how all people with autism act! This is only how my cousin acts, who is on the lower functioning side of the spectrum. This is by no means supposed to be offensive in any way.
