"Good morning class, as most of you must've noticed, y/n has returned to school. Y/n, we all feel really sorry for your loss and are more than happy to have you back in our class. Now then, everyone open page 38 please"
My eyes we're focused on to the paper, too scared to look at all the eyes piercing holes into my body.
They weren't sorry, they never were.
I didn't crave the attention that was now given to me, not when it was 98% anger and jealousy.
"Y/n...you haven't opened your book yet"
Sungea called out to me from the side.
"Ah- sorry... It's just a bit overwhelming with all those eyes on me"
"Don't worry about them, they don't have anything to do with their lifes, so they tryna work their way into yours"
"Thanks, sung"
I tried my best focusing on the lesson, but all that seemed to be fuzzing around in my head, was jisung.
How could he have found me after all those years, why didn't he tell me when we met again?
I had to talk to him about it, I needed to clear things.
In lunch break, I immediately went over to his table and took him with me outside.
"What's up? Why don't you join our table and eat something, you must be starv-"
"Why didn't you tell me, jisung" I looked at him, hoping he'd understand what I meant. I didn't know how to explain the fact I was disturbing his privacy and looked through his shelves.
"What do you mean" he laughed slightly, seeming to be nervous about something.
"I'm sorry I didn't tell you earlier, I needed to process what I found out."
"What do you mean y/n? Are you sick? Do you have a fever? " he proceeded to touch my forehead, but I lightly slapped it away.
"I don't have a fever, I'm perfectly fine. Is it really you, han? "
He looked at me with big eyes. I thought he'd be revealed or happy but all I saw was fear. His mouth stood open slightly as he just looked at me, trying to form words.
"Yesterday when you took a shower, I looked around the house to get more comfortable and when I reached your room and looked into that table shelv of yours, I saw us. I saw the picture my mom took of us. "
He looked even more shocked now.
Understandable, his friend just told him they went without permission into his room and looked through his stuff.
"I'm sorry I did it behind your back, curiosity took over me. But... Why didn't you tell me? "
He looked at me for a few more seconds, before pulling me into a hug. One of his hands caressed my hair. "I was scared"
Was all he could whisper right into my ear, before he started sobbing uncontrollably.
I hugged him back, feeling his warmth take over me slowly. Not long after, I felt my T-shirt start to wet at my shoulder.
"What made you scared? "
He didn't respond. He couldn't.
How could he tell his one true love everything that had pained him in the past the second the wound was opened.
I felt him shiver, his cries turning louder. I tried calming him down.
Stroke his cheeks and repealingly reassuring that I was here for him.
We just stood there. In the middle of the schoolyard. Everyone around us was able to listen, able to judge. But no one did. It was just him and I.
I wanted answers and I was ready to wait as long as he needs to tell me.
With him still sobbing uncontrollably, we sat down at a bench.
I looked at the sky while patting his back. The clouds formed beautiful shapes, hiding the sun just slightly.
Eventually, he calmed down and looked at me with a small smile plastered on his face.
"I'm so sorry I left you... I was young and weak, I didn't know how to protect you. But I wanted to, that's why I left.
I trained so much, my doctor had to keep me at the hospital to keep me from training. It was all for you. And I did it. I managed to become the person I always wanted to be for you, and your life became normal too"
"But I never wanted you to leave in the first place. Like I care if you're weak or if other kids pick on me. They were just jealous of the love we had."
"I know... " he said, wiping his wet cheeks. His words were still stuttered, his nose red. He smiled.
"I'm just so happy you're finally back" I told him, giving him a tight long hug.
"Remember the day we went to lake? "
"The day you stayed over for the night?"
"Mhm, remember when you asked me why I moved here"
"Yes, you said you were searching for something... "
"I was searching for you.... It took me years finding your location, and when I finally did, seeing you on the muddy floor, it was like my heart exploded. It sounds silly, it's been more than 4 years since I had seen you, but you looked the same. That cute pout on your face, the big scarf protecting half of your face. All of my memories flood back to me"
"I can't believe I didnt remember you, hannie"
Hearing the nickname, he looked at them, eyes widened. "I haven't heard that nickname in ages, I missed it"
"I missed you" I said, smiling at him.
"You know, the rock said something else other than what I told you" "what rock"
"The one behind your closet. It says 'fate may bring us back together'. I picked it up from our favorite lake and scratched them on it. That you can't read it was intentional. I'm happy you kept it"
"Wow... This stone had comforted me in most of my childhood times.. Thank you for coming back, han"
"Thank you for waiting"
We smiled at each other, the comfortable silence full filling us. Nothing had to be rushed in this moment. I wanted to look at him forever, at his pretty eyes and gorgeous lips. The way his bangs fell on to his lashes, nose still red and eyes still a little teary.
To my disappointment, sungea found us and rushed over.
"Damn guys, I've been searching for y'all everywhere! And why are you crying"
"Oh, it's nothing just an allergic reaction"
"Alllright- let's go inside, I bought us food! "
"Let's go! " jisung and I got up, following sungea inside. I felt may more happy than ever before, with both my favorite people in the world by my side.
