Chapter 18

Giving in

I groaned lowly when i felt another wave of ache on my temple. It traveled to the back of my head. Parang sasabog na yung ulo ko.

I looked down to the Doctor who was assessing my inflamed tattoo.

"How long did it became watery like this?"

"Five days after she got the tattoo. Lumala kahapon dahil sa laro niya." Incus intervened before i could even open my mouth.

Nasa gilid ko siya't nakatayo. Nakahalukipkip. Para ko siyang tatay roon na sinamahan ang anak niya sa monthly check-up nito.

"I will just prescribe you an ointment."

"She already has an ointment, Theo." He cut off again. "Bigyan mo kaya siya ng painkillers?"

"Kung ikaw na lang kaya ang nag-doktor dito, ano?" His cousin theo, glared at him.

"I'm just concerned."

"Then...i suggest she rests her legs for a few days. Maybe a week. Para hindi na lumala. Or when she does want to go out, she can wear open shoes. At tsaka wag niyang masyadong hawakan. Bandage will also worsen it, kaya wag nang takpan."

Tumango ako. "Okay."

"Bibigyan na lang kita ng gamot para makakatulog ka ng mahimbing mamaya."

"She can sleep just well without it though..." Incus muttered.

"What does that supposed to mean?" Theo chuckled.

"Oh...okay...i don't want to have TMI so i'm just gonna shut up now." He raised his hand.

Uminit naman ang pisngi ko.

Sinamaan ko ng tingin ang katabi.

"W-wala siyang ibig sabihin roon."

Nahihiwagaan akong tiningnan ni Incus.

"Yeah. I mean because she's drunk."

"I'm not drunk!"

He smirked. "Speaking of drunk...kamusta naman ang paglabas ninyo?"

"It was fun. Lalo na't libre."

"Where's my card?"

"Nasa kuya mo. I suggest kunin mo na baka hindi na ibalik." Tawa niya. "Hindi na namin kinuhanan ng resibo. Baka kasi magwala ka lang."

May binigay siya na samples sa akin. Then papel kay Incus. Reseta ko siguro.

"So...i'm off!"

"Wait!" Pigil ko.

"I-check mo na rin siya."

Nagtataka ang dalawa sa pagturo ko.

"Ang likod ng ulo niya. I-examine mo."

"Na ano ka ba?" Tanong ni theo sa pinsan niya.

"He fell off. Hit his head on the jacuzzi."

Napalakas ang pagtulak ko sa kaniya...

"Why did you fell again?" He asked while examining Incus head.

Nagkatitigan kami ni Incus. It was for a few seconds, after that he lowered his head on the floor and chuckled to himself.

"I slipped. Hindi ko namalayan na basa pala yung sahig."

"Dumbass. Why am i not surprised?"

Theo turned off his penlight.

Hinarap niya ako.
