Vincent's POV-

Yu Eun's 5th birthday was the best one yet. Not because of the celebrations or the gifts but because my daughter finally had a mother to share her birthday with. She was finally getting a mother she deserves.

When were cutting the cake together I felt like I had a family and don't get me wrong my brothers are already my family but this family being just the four of us was a dream every person has about their future.

Everything was going smooth until I received a call from Nigel. I existed the ball room to talk to him.

"Vincent, I really hate to ruin your mood during Lily's birthday but there's something you need to see." He said.

"What happened?" I asked.

"The court has sent the dates for the first trial along with the offical notice." Along with these words all the happiness I had from earlier drained away and was replaced with furry.

"On Yu Eun's birthday?" I clenched my jaw.

"Yeah." He sighed.

"When did you receive it?" I asked.

"About 15 minutes ago." He said.

Roger motherfucking King was a sick bastard. He planned it perfectly.

"I have sent you the photos of the notice." He said.

"When are the dates of the trial?" I questioned.

"A week from now." He told.

"Good fucking lord," I muttered under my breath.

"Exactly my thoughts. Well, you go through the notice and enjoy Lily's birthday. I'll call you later." With that he cut the call.

How the hell was I supposed to enjoy when I was on the brink of loosing her?

To calm myself before going back I went to balcony. Maybe fresh air would help me clear my head. I leaned against the railing of the balcony and buried my face in my hands.

Never in my life had I imagined I would have to through shit like this.

The door opened slightly and I saw Eliza from the corner of my eye.

"Vincent?" She called my name.

"Hmm?" I just hummed.

"What's wrong?" She asked.

"Nothing." I said. I didn't want her mood to get spoiled. She was so happy today when Yu Eun called her mom.

She stepped forward and stood beside me.

"You can tell me if anything's happened." She said.

"Nothing has happened to tell." I answered.

"You don't want to tell me what has happened? Fine then. I'll here right beside you and irritate you into tell me." She said.

"I have lived with a five year old, I doubt there is anything you can do to irritate me." I said.

"Is that a challenge?" She raised an eyebrow.

"It's just the facts." I shrugged.

"Fine. The First Cataract at Aswān, where the riverbed is turned into rapids by a belt of granite, was the country's only well-defined boundary within a populated area. To the south lay the far less hospitable area of Nubia, in which the river flowed through low sandstone hills that in most regions left only a very narrow strip of cultivable land. Nubia was significant for Egypt's periodic..." She started reciting the Egyptian history. And I accepted my defeat after five minutes.
