I had just arrived at the library because Nick and I had to work on an Essay. I hated libraries but we had to come because the books we needed were in here only.

As I waited for Nick to get here, I looked through my phone. Vic and I had surprisingly talked on the phone. Well, more like texted but it was still something. It was nothing serious and more of like small chit chat. We didn't do it often because of our busy schedules, but I'll take what I get. Overall it made me happy to know we hadn't lost complete contact.

"Hey, sorry there was a whole bunch of traffic." Nick said, rushing inside of the library.

"It's okay."

We sat down by the computers and logged in.

"By the way, I never asked you. How did the cookout go?"

"It went pretty alright. My uh, friend actually helped me out." I said.

"Oh really? Well that's good. Now I don't feel too bad." He said with a small chuckle.

After an hour of trying to start and finish the essay, we got bored and started talking about random things.

"Did Justin ask you about the lunch Sunday?" Nick asked, making me raise my eyebrows a little.

"No, he hasn't mentioned it." I said completely clueless.

"Oh, well I invited you and a few couple of guys to my sisters engagement lunch party. Part of my family are stuck up rich assholes and I really don't feel like putting up with them."

"Ah, that blows man. But yeah, I'll come." I said not completely hating the idea.

"Great, we can all just go in my car. It'll be a bit fancy so make sure to dress fancy-ish." He said and I nodded.

"At what time?" I asked.

"More or less around noon I'll pick ya up."

Sunday should be interesting then.

The week had gone by and now it was time for that lunch with Nick. I wasn't looking forward for it too much but Nick was a good friend so I couldn't let him down.

I dressed in a light gray dress shirt and some dark black pants. My hair was styled in it's usual form and I contemplated on wearing a tie. In the end, I decided on wearing a dark grey tie with a light pattern.

I waited outside of my apartment until I saw Nick's familiar red car. He beeped and I jogged to them.

"Sup, Kells." Gabe said from the passenger seat.

"Hey," I said and sat beside Justin and Jack.

"You look nice, Kells." Justin said nudging me a little.

"Thanks," I said, "you don't look too bad yourself."

Nick ealry apologized if his family was rude. He warned us that they could be huge assholes but I didn't really care. If they plan on talking some shit, I'll do the same.

After ten minutes of driving, we arrived at a white colored mansion. Elegant pink and white roses decorated the front yard. Men dressed in black tuxedos greeted us as we walked inside the house. The setting of the house almost reminded me of Vic's home. Although in this one there were two staircases. It might of been bigger too.

The guys and I kindly greeted strangers once we reached the backyard. There were dozens of white tables around and a small live band played. Nick was sure not kidding when he said some of his family were snobby. I could sense it right when I met them.
