After many crucial hours of sitting in a crowded plane with several crying children, I arrived. The airport was just as crowded and a little hard to get through. Thank God some things were translated in English or who knows how I would've gotten around. Of course, my unlucky self was one of the many passengers to get their luggage lastly. I just wanted to get to Vic but there was so much holding me back.

When I walked out of the airport, I caught a taxi parked by near and got inside. I gave the Mexican man the name of the hospital and then just like that I was off.

This was my first time being in Mexico - which was a little nerve wracking because I didn't know what to expect. I like to prepare and know about where I'm going but I won't for this time. I stared out the window and took in all my surroundings. It was so much different than back home. Even though it was a big change, it was still really cool. If it wasn't for the unfortunate circumstances, I would've liked to explore. Maybe later in life.

Because of the horrific traffic, I managed to get to the hospital thirty minutes later. I paid the man with 'pesos' - which was so odd because I gave him like 300 of those. I have no idea how many American Dollars that was but I didn't care. As long as I got to Vic, I didn't care how much I paid.

"Gracias." I said and finally appreciated that Spanish class I took Junior year. Thank you, Mrs. Gonzalez!

I had texted Vic when I had landed and he said that he'd be waiting inside in the first floor. With my luggage in one hand and my backpack on my back, I walked into the daunt hospital.

Once I stepped foot inside and walked around, I saw him. Sitting down on one of the brown chairs, was Vic wearing a blue cast on his left wrist. He was looking at the ground but I could tell he was in so much more pain. I was heart broken at the sight, but more when his face turned upwards and his eyes met mine. Not even a second passed when he came rushing to me.

I instantly let go of my luggage and ran to him. With wide arms open, I engulfed him into a warm hug. He wrapped his arms around my waist and pushed his face onto my neck. Immediately I heard the familiar sound of cries, breaking my heart into millions of pieces.

"Hey, it's going to be okay." I murmured softly against his head.

"But nothing is okay." He said, sniffing loudly but not letting go of me.

I wish I could fix everything in a snap of my fingers but I couldn't.

"I'm sorry. It's just so hard to be positive when all of this happening." He said and I completely understood. "Thank you so much for coming, Kellin. You have no idea how much this means to me. You have classes and your job yet you-"

"It's nothing, Vic. Really it's fine," I assured him.

We hugged a little while before he finally pulled back, the tears completely ceased. I could see dark bags underneath his pained eyes. He was exhausted. Now that I could see his face clearly, I saw a few cuts and scratches too. There was one scrape in particular that stood out on his right cheek.

"My dad is on the fourth floor." He said, grabbing my luggage before holding my hand and leading me to one of the elevators. We went up to the fourth floor and walked into the waiting area. There weren't many people inside which was good. I didn't know if wanted to go into the room his dad was in, but I figured not when we sat down on the chairs.

"So, did you see your dad?" I asked.

"Yeah, I was with him before I came down actually." He said, keeping his eyes on our locked hands. "He looks so peaceful. . .so relaxed. If it wasn't for everything connected to him and the machines, you'd think he was just sleeping. But he's not sleeping at all. He can't do anything and is. . .trapped."
