Chapter 19

Sorry I've been a little late with updates :( this kinda sucks so sorry for that too

"So I've been looking at the travel brochures." I said as Vic and I ate breakfast one morning.

"Do you have anything in mind that you'd want to do today?" He asked.

"Yeah, I mean I don't know if it sounds dumb or whatever but I read about snorkeling," I said unsure. "We don't have to but it's an idea."

"If you really want to, then let's do it. I was actually thinking about that too."

"Really?" I asked.

"Yeah, I've never been snorkeling either so this might seem interesting."

I lightly smiled at him but tried my best to hide the wide grin dying to appear. I felt like a small overly spoiled child.

Vic and I arrived at the Dive and Surf Center by South Beach a while after eating. We signed ourselves up for the next trip that would start in an hour. After paying, we were given some of the gear we would need once we got out there. They gave us a wet suit, snorkel, mask, and fins.

We soon changed out of our clothes and into the suit which felt so fucking odd. I have never had one on so I felt extremely ridiculous.

"You look hot babe," Vic winked at me but I rolled my eyes.

"Shut up, Fuentes." I said and picked up my clothes and put them inside of my backpack.

"It's the truth, darling."

I shook my head before we both made our way out of the changing rooms. There were other people that were going on this trip but there wasn't a whole lot so it wasn't that bad.

After a while of just waiting, it was time to get on the boat. This wasn't my first time getting on a boat and I didn't get sea sick which was good.

"Do you get sea sick easily?" I asked Vic as the boat started to go off deeper into the ocean.

"No, not really. Although one day on a cruise I was on with my family, I got really sea sick and ended up throwing up all over my brother Mike. I didn't really complain though," he said with a small chuckle. God he was so adorable.

"I'm sure Mike did complain."

Vic scoffed and rolled his eyes.

"Oh please, to get puke all over you from the one and only, Vic Fuentes, is a true honor."

I punched his shoulder but he just kept on laughing.

On the way to our destination, the main crew guy talked on and on about where we were going and what kind of sea creatures we'll be able to
see. He showed us how to properly wear our mask and how to work the other gear. With that introduction, he also talked about safety and what to do if we found ourselves in certain situations, but I couldn't help but get lost in the view of the sea. It was just too damn beautiful.

As if it didn't feel like forever, we finally reached the reef and I couldn't help but feel excitement take over my body. I could tell Vic was excited too and that made me happy.

The main crew guy told us some last minute things before everyone started to go into the water. Vic double checked that my mask was on right even though I knew it was good.

"It's on right, Vic." A small giggled escaped my lips. Safety freak.

"Okay. . .now it is." He said with a small smile.

"Can we go then?" I asked like an anxious five year old. He took my hand and nodded.

Without another second to waste, Vic and I jumped into the water. I laughed as water splashed everywhere and at the sight of Vic in his mask. The feeling of the water over my wetsuit felt good too.

"Come on," he said and started to swim in the opposite direction of the others. I swam beside him and then we both dove into the water.

Immediately a whole new world was showed to me. Damn, this was fucking amazing! Life under the sea is so fascinating yet so mysterious. There's still so much for us to discover. Some of those things being cool and others being scary. I was overwhelmed with happiness at the sight of all the species in front of me but sadly I didn't know what everything was called. Although I did recognize some things.

There were a ton of bright colored sponges. Some were orange, yellow, and pink while others were darker like green or brown. I accidentally touched one and it felt soft and squishy. With all my might I refrained myself from actually squishing it.

At the same time I also recognized some anemones. Immediately I started to look for Nemo. . .or I guess just any clownfish.

Vic tapped my shoulder and pointed at something. There were some crabs just below us with their scary looking claws. Just imagine getting a finger stuck in between those. . .ouch.

A group of grayish colored fish swam in front us without stopping. I laughed at their weird faces and then imagined a shark appearing. If that were to actually happen and I got attacked, then I'm dragging Vic with me. Yep, I'm a terrible boyfriend but at least I won't die alone.

The rest of our time below the surface was spent discovering the phenomenal wonders of the sea. After being on that reef for a while, we went to another location that had so many other things to offer. Just like the first time, I was breathless.

This whole experience was one of a kind, and I'm so glad Vic was part of it.
