"Your grandfather called last night and told me to let you know that he's bringing you back something special from Prague." Grandma says to us.

We were at Friday night dinner but grandpa was away for business, so it was just us four Gilmore girls. I still haven't told grandma and grandpa yet about me being pregnant.

"Wow, Prague. How amazing is it that he's going to Prague?" Rory says happily.

"It is supposed to be lovely, very dramatic castles everywhere." Grandma responds

"Did you know, the cell that Vaclav Havel was held in is now a hostel?" I ask mainly grandma.

"Yeah, you can stay there for like, $50 a night. Hey, maybe on our trip to Europe, we could go to Prague and stay in his cell." Rory continues

"Absolutely, and then we should go to turkey and stay in that place from midnight express." Mom says whilst doing something with her food.

"Lorelai, what are you doing?" Grandma asks mom.

"Getting rid of the avocado." Mom responds

"Since when do you not like avocado?" Grandma questions

"Since the day I said, 'gross, what is this?' And you said 'avocado'" mom says

"I'm focusing on you two now." Grandma states as she turns towards me and Rory. "So tell me about the Chilton formal next week."

"There's a formal?" Mom says, wide eyed at us.

"How do you know about the formal?" Rory asks grandma.

"Yeah, how do you know about the formal?"

"I read my Chilton news letter." Grandma replies

"Since when do you get a Chilton newsletter?" Mom asks

"We'll, as major contributors to the girls' education, I figured I had the right to ask for a news letter to be sent to my house." Grandma explains

"Are you serious?"

"And it's a good thing too, since you don't read yours. One of us should be up to date on Rory and tori's school."

"Hey mom, I read my newsletter." Mom says defensively

"You did?"

"That's right."

"What Is the picture on the cover?" Grandma asks

"I-it was a picture of a really rich kid in plaid." Mom stutters

"It's was a spotted owl." Grandma says whilst turning over the news letter.

"In plaid." Mom points out a silently laugh with Rory.

"The owls are endangered and Chilton is taking donations to help. You two have a very nice donation in case you are interested." Grandma explains to us

"No, don't be giving out donations on the girls' behalf. I'll do that."

"How can you do that when you don't read the newsletter?" Grandma says casually

"I read the news letter." Mom says for like the fourth time.

"You didn't know they're taking donations."

"It's a private school they are always taking donations. They teach a class in it. I'll get them next time." Mom exclaims

"What about the owls?" Grandma asks

"They will live."

"Well, apparently they won't, dear. That's the reason why they need donations in the first place." Grandma says to mom and I laugh silently.
