"Grandma, can I have some baby pictures of you and grandpa?" I ask grandma.

"Any particular reason?" She questions back

"Yeah. We're doing this family history project for school." Rory explains for me

"Oh well, if it's for school, I could dig something up." Grandma tells us

"We need some of mom, too." I state

"I thought we had this conversation." Mom says

"Yeah. But I don't believe you." I tell her

"Mother tell her."

"I don't have any baby pictures of your mother." Grandma begins.

"Thank you." Mom says

"How could you not have any?" Rory asks

"Because when your mother was 7, I came downstairs and I found her burning her baby pictures." Grandma continues

"Why would you do that? I'm sure you were a cute baby." I exclaim

"She was very cute..." grandma starts

"4,3,2,1..." mom whispers

"...in most respects." Grandma continues

"We have liftoff."

"What does that mean?" Rory questions

"Nothing." Mom says quickly.

"I don't see what the problem is. You certainly grew into it."

"Grown into what?" I ask

"As a Child, your mother had an unusually large head." Grandma explains

"The best thing about it was she would tell me constantly. My first complete sentence was 'big head want dolly.'" Mom states and I laugh.

"I can't imagine it could've been that bad." Rory says

"It wasn't. It just affected her balance a little, so-" mom cuts grandma off

"-Can we talk about something beside my formerly huge head?" Mom questions

"Are these new chairs, grandma?" Rory asks

"Why, yes, they are." Grandma responds

"They are?"

"I got them from a dealer in Maine. He just finished restoring them." Grandma replies

"They look exactly like the new ones." Mom says

"They're nice." I state, knowing that mom would continue asking questions about the old chairs and how they look identical to the new ones.

"You sure they're new?"

"Of course, I bought them." Grandma explains

"I don't see any difference at all." Mom states

"The arch is higher, and they have a different leg."

"No difference."

"I could only get 10, so I'm two chairs short of a set." Grandma tells us, mainly mom for some reason.

"You're telling me."

"Do you realize how rare these chairs are? I searched for three years for them. I combed every fine antique store on the east coast, this is all I could find. I blame peg mossley." Grandma rambles

"Peg mossley- evil, evil woman."

"What did peg mossley do?" Rory asks

"She lured these two German children to her gingerbread house, then tried to eat them." Mom jokes. "Pass the artichokes please."
