We finished studying and got ready for the concert. I couldn't wait to see the bangles! Best band ever!
We drove to the theatre and went inside.
"He made it." Rory explains to the girls. Talking about the bracelet Dean had made her.
"Oh, he's handy. How great." Madeline says
"And you wear it all the time, right?" Louise asks
"Just when she's breathing." Mom jokes
"It's a love thing." Sookie tells us
"Thanks for the contribution."
"Okay. Here. With these tickets you are about to enter sacred space. You will be treading on hollowed ground. You will be walking like an Egyptian." Mom says and I laugh
"Mom..." I say as she still hadn't given over the tickets.
"Take them, you're gonna have a great time. The bangles are the best! They were my favourite group in high school. I almost named you Susana." She says pointing to Rory. "And named You Victoria because it was my middle name but also because of Vicki Peterson. But as you grew up you were clearly a tori, not a vicki. But the day I found out neither of you had musical talent at all, was the saddest day of my life."
"We're sorry." We say
"You say that now. Here. Okay. These are probably located..." mom starts before asking a security guard.
"Those are right in here." The security guard replies.
"Oh, good. Girls. Okay, here's the deal. Take the tickets, go to your seats, have the night of a lifetime, bangle it up. The second the concert is over meet us outside in front of the theatre. Got it?" Mom questions
"Yes."
"Good! Now go!" Mom says and we walk through.
"Thank you so much mom!" I hug her
"Your welcome Vicki, oh how I wish you preferred Vicki." Mom says
"No. Not happening." I tell her and smile
"Which aisle is it?" Paris asks as we wonder through the endless rows of seats.
"We're almost there." I respond
"I have never sat this close to a stage before. In fact, I have never been to a concert before, so, I could be sitting in the back and say the same thing." Madeline tells us
"In here." Rory guides us to the seats
"Oh, good."
"Wow. These are amazing seats." I state
"Yes, they are." Louise says as she looks behind at two boys.
"What are they looking at?" Rory asks
"One guess." Paris replies
"Check it out, we've got fans." The guys say as he sees us looking.
"Was I right?" Paris asks
"You were right." Rory responds
"And before it is dark, they'll have every picnic basket in jellystone park." Paris tells us
Two minutes later, the show starts and they start singing 'hero takes a fall'.
I look over at Louise and Madeline and they are just talking to the guys behind us. I look at Paris and she genuinely smiles at me.
Songs go by, and then they start singing my favourite song. Eternal flame.
"Oh my god. He is so gorgeous." Louise tells us
