"Mimo, can't you make yourself smaller? Or even maybe hide like Paimon always does? People stare at me if you follow me around and it's kinda uncomfortable." Y/n asked.
Mimo complied with her wish and turned into a watch that latched onto her wrist. She was amazed at how Mimo transformed
"Oh, it's giving apple watch. Nice one Mimo!" Y/n praised as she walked out of her home. It is been days since she received a gnosis out of nowhere ad she asked Nahida for help to figure out why.
She also leveled up quite a lot, but the high defense still bothered her to no end. Nonetheless, today she'll be going on a solo commission run since Aether and Paimon are out of Sumeru.
"Good morning Katheryne, what are my commissions today?" Y/n asked as the adventurer's guild receptionist greeted back.
Katheryne gave her a sheet of paper with four commissions. The usual mushroom testing commission and one hilichurl subjugation. Heading out of the city, she saw the wanderer talking with a merchant.
"Sup baby girl! Good morning!" Y/n waved cheerfully while he pretended not to know her and carried on talking to the merchant.
Y/n began walking toward them and noticed that the merchant was trying to sell him some products. She peeked over the goods and noticed that they were selling artifacts.
"I can guarantee that your attack can be more powerful with this feather. And this circlet can enhance your healing abilities. These are legit, I promise. All of which mace from the ruins in the desert" The merchant said.
"Do I look like a healer to you? I am in no need of these materials." The wanderer firmly rejected it while Y/n bent down to inspect the artifacts.
"Anyone can be a healer you know." Y/n said recalling the times she tried building characters as healers.
Among the three-star artifacts, she spotted a lonesome five-star desert pavilion feather. With her skill Eye of providence, she saw its substats.
Ohhh! Double crit with EM and ER? This would be great for baby girl!
"Boss, how much for this feather?" Y/n asked.
"You have a good eye for products miss, it would be a 100k mora." The merchant said which made Y/n almost collapse. Such expensive ornament it is.
"If you want a feather then go hunt a bird and pluck one." The wanderer states while Y/n is counting her mora.
"It is not the same! Boss, can't you give a first-timer discount?!" Y/n bargained.
"I can't do that, my boss, Lord Sangemah Bay will fire me if that happens. However, we are willing to place a tab under your name, if you're low on mora at the moment." The merchant said.
Nope, absolutely not, one thing I hate is being in debt. Wait, I have an idea!
"What if I trade a product I created?" She asked which intrigued the merchant. Taking out a jar of gravy and ketchup and let him taste each.
"I call it ketchup and gravy. Any fried food can be dipped to enhance its flavor. It's like jam but not for bread!" Y/n exclaimed and explained some of the ingredients and the process.
"This catch-up and gray bee truly are great products, I need to inform my boss about this. If you could write down your address so we can contact you regarding these products." The merchant said as he took his wares and headed straight to his boss's abode.
As the merchant scurried away, the wanderer asked why y/n was out of the city all alone after nahida's warning to lay low.
"I can't skip my commission too much, just think of the mora I won't be receiving. It would be a waste." Y/n reasoned. The wanderer simply scoffed at her materialistic behavior before walking forward.
"What are you waiting for? Let's head to your first commission" he said, stopping as he noticed her not following.
"Oh! You're gonna help me? Is my baby girl in a good mood?" She teased.
"Hah, in your dreams. I only wanted to see you struggling alone now that the blonde traveler is away." He says as he smirked and crossed his arms as a way to mock her.
"Hmm, then you'll be my emotional support today. Ah, what an honor to be cheered on by my baby girl." She gushed which made him click his tongue in annoyance.
"Who's supporting who? Shut up already and lead the way, we don't have all day." He said in irritation while Y/n happily skipped away and lead the way.
To her commission, she jumped on a bouncy mushroom and caught a jellyfish before heading on to defend a leyline monolith from eremite.
Her final commission, the hilichurl subjugation. Hiding behind a bush, she and the wanderer sped on the small hilichurl camp with stealth.
"Ah shit, theres three nokia-sheild-mitachulrs, four archers, 2 samachurls and one big boi lawachurl! WHO THE FUCK SAID THAT THIS IS A SMALL CAMP?! THERE'S SO MANY OF THEM" She whispered after counting her enemies.
"Finally got to see you struggling after hours of doing such mundane commissions. Off you go, keep me entertained. Do your worst, pervert." The wanderer said as he pushed Y/n out of the bush and alerted the enemies.
"Y-YOU BIATCH!" Y/n exclaimed as she hurriedly took out her pistol and began to shoot the archers one by one.
"Mi! Mi!"
[Mimo will help]
Her Mimo watch glowed and her abilities were enhanced. Her attack speed increased as well as her attack that her bullet pierced through the mitachurls shield.
The wanderer on the other hand was up in the air, watching her fight all alone. The reason he had let her fight alone was so he could measure her fighting prowess now that she had gained a gnosis of her own.
Nahida told him that despite having a gnosis, she claimed that it wasn't connected to Celestia or the heavenly principles. It came to be on its own and chose Y/n to be its host.
Though Y/n didn't look like a threat, he still needs evidence that she isn't but seeing her fight so naturally makes her even more suspicious.
Why did she come to Teyvat and chose Sumeru as a place to land? What does fate plan to bring with her presence?
