NORA' S POV

This feels surreal.

We are in the bookstore.

We are laughing and having fun.

I smile at him.

"Why are you smiling like that?"

"Like what?"

He comes closer to me and cages me between his arms.

His arms look good. Like really good and can I bite it?

What's wrong with me?? Why am I having such wild thoughts?

"Like you are thinking about some mischievous things."

Did he came to know that I want to bite his arms?

"I did not. You are hallucinating."

He laughs.

"Really?"

Suddenly an idea strikes me.

"I will select a book for you and you will select a book for me. And we will read each others selections. What do you think?"

"Even if I refused, you would still convince me to do it."

I select a typical rom-com novel for him and he starts grumbling.

"Why this?" I shake my head in denial in response to his grumbling.

"Uh-oh!! No grumbling, Sir. We decided it."

"Not me, you did."

"It's still the same."

He grumbles some incoherent stuff and I start laughing.

We sit besides each other and start reading in silence.

He chose a Self-Help book for me because he said that it is necessary for me.

When I glance at him secretly, he is pouting while reading.

He is so cute.

The way his wavy hair covers his eyes and how he shakes his head to get those hair away.

I sigh.

I am damned, right?

"Sweetheart, you better concentrate on your book rather than on me."

"What are you talking about? I was just trying to get your reaction because it's your first time reading a romance book."

"Really? I don't believe that."

He leans forward.

"What? What are you doing?"

He leans and I lean back to avoid him.

I nervously chuckle. Only this man can make me nervous.

As stated by my ex-boyfriend's, 'I was a explicitly blunt bitch who has no emotions and can say even the meanest things to you even without blinking.'

In a way, I was a 'explicitly blunt bitch'. So I played that part for a long time until Alan.

Now I am behaving like a 14 year old teenage girl with a crush.

So I am chuckling like a ghost who got their next victim to feed off.

"Don't lie."

A chuckle escapes from me again. Damn!!! I need to control myself.

"You chuckle a lot when you lie."

My eyes widen.

"You noticed? Maybe I was too obvious."

I mumble.

He suddenly leans forward catching me unaware.

"I always notice whenever it's you." He says this and tucks a stray strand.

My heart stops. It shouldn't be right. Whatever is going on, it seems intimate. This moment seems nervously intimate.

Something between us shifted. I don't know when but somehow it did shift.

And I don't know what to make out of it. Everything is confusing and it's making me spiral out of control. And I never lose control.

NEVER!!

I never let my heart take the lead. Never ever. Not in any of my relationships. But this time, my heart is running the show and it is scaring me.

Never showed them my vulnerable side to them. But with him, my vulnerable side comes out.

"I can't with this self-help book. I am gonna sleep at this rate."

He laughs.

And if someone asked me what's my favourite sound in the whole world?

It would be his laugh. And if there was a option I would choose this sound for the rest of my life.

O God!!!

"I think I like this book so I am gonna take this."

"Really?" I squeak.

"Yes!!!" He laughs again and my heart melts.

I shake my head and try to get rid of this feeling.

"Come on, let's go."

We pay for the books. Surprisingly, I buy the self-help book.

We step out of the bookstore.

Eeekkk!!!!!

It's raining. And we are caught unexpected in the rain.

People say rain is romantic. It is romantic when you are sipping coffee in the balcony. Not when you don't have an umbrella and you are wearing the thinnest see through clothes.

"What do we do now?" I sigh.

I don't have the greatest memories of rain. It made me feel all gloomy and depressed.

"Walk in the rain until we find a cab."

I laugh at his words.

When I glance at him again, I realise that he isn't joking.

"Fine." I sigh again.

He stands in front of me and bends down.

My eyes widen and I check the road sideways to see no one's watching us.

"What are you doing, Kai?"

"Get on me."

"What?"

"You are not walking with those heels."

My heart melts. I smile.

"I am fine, Kai."

"Stop it, Nora and get on."

"Alright."

I take off my heels and climb slowly but steadily.

He starts walking. He takes the heels from my hand.

"You are so heavy."

I smack his head.

"If you wanna be alive, shut your mouth."

"I am sorry. You are not heavy and also you need to eat more. How can you be so light?"

"Yeah, sure."

We get a cab and reach home.

I freshen up and realise that I am sharing a bed with him.

O God!!! How ignorant was I before?

"Aren't you sleeping? It's been a long day. You need to rest."

I am drooling. He is wearing grey sweatpants and black hoodie.

Woah!!!

"I need to work on something. I will finish that."

"Alright."

He takes his book and starts reading it and I work on my epilogue.
