NORA'S POV

I yawn and then I frown when the left side of the bed is colder and empty.

I close my eyes for a second and then I pass out again.

Knock-knock!!!

"Nora, I hope you aren't naked because right now, I am gonna barge into the room."

I hear someone sigh and grunt.

"Sometimes you don't sleep at all and sometimes you sleep like you are dead. I just fail to understand you."

Something cold touches my cheek and I flinch and wake up.

"Who the fuck!!" I groan.

"Yeah, I am that fucker. Wake up, sleeping Beauty. It's almost afternoon. Don't you have a meeting?"

I wake up in a jolt.

"Fuck!!"

"Yeah. Fuck." Ira sighs.

"Why didn't you wake me up?" I yell when I nearly stumble.

"Oh, I tried to. But you just were too persistent to wake up. Kai left you a note."

She hands me the note.

"Breakfast is already ready. Let's eat together after you freshen up."

"You shouldn't have waited for me."

"If we are both home, we should eat together."

"True." I wink at her and she cringes.

I walk towards my room.

"I am sorry." I stumble when I get out of PJ's.

"Fuck!" I yelp.

"You okay? Damn!! Nora, be careful." She yells from the living room.

"I am fine. I just had a conversation with the floor."

I hear her laugh and I smile too.

I freshen up and dress up for the meeting.

I put on a full sleeve black shirt and pair it with rose taupe pants with black boots and black bag.

I put on minimal makeup and tie my hair in a ponytail.

O shit!! I forget about Kai's note.

I take the note and read it.

I made breakfast and your favourite apple juice. And avoid coffee. I will see you soon.

Kai. :)

I smile. His handwriting is so messy compared to his calm demeanor. The note is so Kai.

I go to the dining table.

"Did I make you wait long, Ira? I am so sorry." I frown.

"I will only accept your apology if you treat me to good food later." She shrugs.

"I promise. Are you free today?"

"Yeah. Took a day off."

I raise a eyebrow. Ira doesn't take a day off. She is a workaholic.

"What's the matter?"

She rolls her eyes.

"Nothing. I just wanna take some rest. These past months have been so hectic. I really need a break."

I stand up from my seat and hug her.

"O, my poor girl!! You know, let's watch a movie, shop and have dinner. All my treat."
