Love of Her Life (A Love Story Between an OB and a Neurosurgeon)

Aracelis Lucia & Ivan Andrea Shepherd-DeLuca Are Born

A very pregnant Amelia decides to get home from work early as Carina is still working. Almost as soon as Amelia gets home her water breaks.

"M-Mark!?" Amelia cries.

"Yes, Ames?" Mark asks.

"My water broke. It really hurts. C-call Carina!"

"But Carina's in surgery" Mark starts.

"JUST CALL HER MARK!" Amelia shouts, soon groaning in pain.

Mark calls Carina, but she's not the one who picks up.

Mark: "Hey Carina, please come home Amelia-"

Andrew: "uh hey man, this isn't Carina, my sisters in surgery"

Mark: "I know that, but she needs to come home. Amelia's in labor"

Andrew: "oh crap, okay, I'll go get her"

Andrew then hangs up.

"Okay, I called Car-" Mark starts.

"Did she pick up??!" Amelia says, frantically.

"No-"

Amelia groans, but then screams in pain.

Mark winces a little at the noise. "But her brother did and he told me that he would get her"

Meanwhile, Carina and Jo are in surgery.

"Dr DeLuca, your brother-in-law called. He needs you to go home" One of the nurses named Novah says.

"Doesn't he know I'm in surgery" Carina asks.

"I don't know, but your wife is in labor" Novah says.

Carina's heart starts racing. "But she's only 33 weeks. The babies are gonna have to stay in the hospital for awhile" She has the look of panic on her face.

"Go, Carina, I'll close up" Jo says.

"Grazie Wilson, I owe you" Carina says rushing out. The only thing going through her mind is that she needs to get to Amelia.

"Don't worry about it. Go be with Amelia and meet your son and daughter" Jo stated.

"Do you think we'll be able to do a home birth?" Mark says.

"I-I don't know" Amelia says whilst doing her breathing exercises.

Carina bursts through the door.

"Babe," Amelia screams in pain. "It hurts"

"I know bambina, I know" Carina says, her strong Italian accent at its peak.

"Should we put her in a birthing pool?" Mark asks the Italian OB and the redhead.

"No" Carina and Addison say in unison. Mark had called Addison to help Amelia through her contractions even though he wasn't much help AT ALL.

"N-no time" Amelia says, already feeling the need to push.

"Okay Amy, lay down, I'm gonna check how dilated you are" Addison says.

"Okay, Amy, it's time to start pushing" Addison says after checking.

Amelia starts pushing.

"You've got this, my love" Carina says.

After several minutes of pushing, baby A is out.

"Okay Amelia, the boy is out. Now it's time to get the girl" Addison started.

"Just a few more pushes, bella" Carina states.

Amelia pushes a few more times until baby B is out.

Addison catches both babies, putting them on Amelia's chest.

"They're such beautiful babies" Carina says, leaning over to kiss the top of her wife's forehead.

"And they look like carbon copies of you babe" Amelia states.

Carina nods in agreement.

"Aracelis and Ivan, I like those names" Amelia says.

"I do too bambina"
