Once the teacher told everyone to pick a seat Tk took the farthest one in the back he figured the fewer people could see him the better

"Everyone we have a new student joining us for the new semester ." The teacher said, "You'll find him right in the back there his name is Tk strand I trust you'll all make him feel welcome ." She said as Tk gave an always smile to the other 24 kids who were starring at him

"Now since he's joining us so late In the year I need someone to give him the lay of the land is anyone interested?" The teacher asked but when nobody raised their hands Tk sunk further in his seat " I can do it ." the kid next to him said

Tk looked over seeing a curly-haired boy q giving Him a soft smile "Okay Carlos why don't you go show him around." the teacher said softly "Everyone else open up your syllabus."

Carlos led Tk out of the classroom " So you know why did you come so late ." Carlos asked as they walked down the hall

"You don't have to be nice to me you know ." tk said looking over at Carlos "I don't want anyone to tease you for hanging out with me ." Tk said biting his lip "Everyone here's an asshole except for you ." Carlos said softly "It's a nice change ." Carlos said

"You don't talk much ." Carlos said "Sorry." Tk said looking at the bulletin board "Did you wanna come over after school? I can help you with your homework ." Carlos said softly "Yeah - sure ." Tk smiled

After school, they went to Carlos's house "Mom I'm home ." Carlos called "Carlitos." his mother smiled hugging her boy "And who is this ?" Andrea smiled looking at Tk "Mom this is my friend Tk ." Carlos said "Oh Tk so nice to meet you! Can I get you something to eat ?" Andrea asked

"I'm okay thank you ." Tk said shyly Carlos led Tk to his room "Sorry it's a little messy ." Carlos said, " I don't mind ." Tk said looking around he saw a pride flag on Carlos's desk

" your room is cool ." Tk smiled before sitting down on the floor "Thanks." Carlos said, "So do you like it here in Texas?" Carlos asked, "It's growing on me ." Tk said softly "My dad dragged me down here ." Tk mumbled

They continued to do their homework when Carlos started laughing " your such a cute little dork." Carlos smiled " I'm not a dork." Tk said in his defense

"Says the one who did their math homework in math class before the lesson even started." Carlos teased and Tk didn't know what came over him but he just kissed Carlos

When he pulled away he searched Carlos's face for a reaction but could find one " Tk -" Carlos said, " I'm sorry it was stupid I'm not sure why I even did it ." Tk said packing up his backpack

"Tk." Carlos said

"No it's fine I should be getting home anyways," Tk said frantically heading for the door

"It wasn't stupid -" Carlos said closing the door and turning Tk around " I liked it" Carlos said before kissing Tk again
