Prompt - what happened after Tk rescued Carlos in 4x4

A few hours later Tk and Carlos were finally alone after family and friends visited to check on Carlos "How are you doing ?" Carlos said taking Tk's hand in his bracing the top of it softly with his thumb
"I'm good." Tk hummed "You such a liar ." Carlos said softly " I am not !" Tk protested

"Tell me the truth then." Carlos said " I thought the reason you went into that place was because of me. You were so upset that I went to see Iris."

"Baby I wasn't upset I just - I wish you would have talked to me about it .." Carlos said stroking Tk's hair "I went because nobody believed Iris. I knew something was wrong so I needed to see it for myself which yes .. wasn't the smartest idea and it wasn't worth worrying you and I hate that I did. But now he's in jail and he can't take advantage of another woman like Iris." Carlos said

He watched as Tk's face remained the same something more was on his mind like Gwynn Carlos has the amazing skill of being able to read Tk and Tk hated that.

"But that's not it is it ?" Carlos asked, "There's something else ." Carlos said his mind was shooting in directions did Tk use it? Did he have the urge to use it? Did he relapse on his self-harm? nothing could prepare him he wasn't sure what Tk was about to say

But he said none of that to Tk as he worked up the courage to tell Carlos
"I had to  use Narcan Carlos ..." Tk said tearing up
"You almost died and if you didn't get the Narcan you would have ."
" I don't know what I would've done ."

"I can't help but think ever since we met that I've done nothing but make your life a living hell," Tk said as Carlos wiped one of his tears

"That's not true Tk this isn't your fault .." Carlos protested

"You said the same thing when the condo burnt down, and when Sadie drugged us, and when I shoved you at the firehouse when you told me my dad was arrested, not to mention when I broke your heart  and now with this,  you keep defending me but the truth is if I never met you if I never moved here any of this would have happened " Tk said

" maybe that's true but you moving here and being with me has been the best thing that's ever happened to me. And I'm right those things aren't your fault you can't help that those happened."

"Come here ." Carlos said moving over in bed " Los- no you need your rest ." Tk protested "I'm not taking no for an answer I've caused you too much stress over the past few days let me help you ." Carlos said, "Besides I was drugged not shot ."

Tk climbed onto the bed curling up against Carlos Carlos took his thumb and wiped Tk's tears "Thanks for saving me ."  Carlos said, "Shut up ." Tk laughed

"If it isn't my favorite couple," Iris said walking into the room half an hour later Carlos put a finger over his lip before looking down to to confirm he was still sleeping

"Gosh darn you hit the jackpot ." Iris teased before handing Carlos the signed divorce papers "Thanks for always being my hero." Iris said kissing Carlos's head

"Cherish him ." Iris said "And no Geminis ."  she teased before leaving the room for the rest of the night they stayed like that
But when Carlos woke up Tk was gone but to his surprise, his mother was there

"Mom? You here .. where Tk ?" Carlos said, " he convinced the nurses to let you go home a day early so he's getting the loft ready for you ."

"He acts as if I was shot it's not that big of a deal ."  And that's when Andrea slapped him across his face " Carlos Gabriel Reyes you worried that poor boy sick he thought you were dead with your father filling his head with the thought of you being killed by a serial killer you died and that boy brought you back to me and your father ." Andrea said, "it is a big deal mijo and it's about time your start recognizing it as one ."

"I'm sorry Mom." Carlos said as his mother kissed his head "I know sweetheart just let him help you okay ?" She said softly " he just wants to help ."

After Tk took Carlos home he helped him get settled in bed " Did you want water? Maybe a smoothie ?" Tk asked "Baby." Carlos hummed "What's up ." Tk said looking up at Carlos "I'm okay.. I'm alive here with you ."  Carlos said looking into tks eyes

" come sit ." Carlos said as Tk crawled up into the bed "Maybe you need to go to a meeting .. or maybe talk with Cooper." Carlos said "Do you want me to leave ?' Tk asked "No of course not baby I'm just saying maybe it would help ..the way the doctor said
to take it easy you already did the laundry and dishes and mopped so I'll probably just get a shower and watch a movie ." Carlos said "okay .." Tk said reluctantly " just call, me okay .." Tk said "I will love you. Carlos said placing a kiss on his head

When Tk got home he saw Carlos in the kitchen cooking " So much for taking it easy huh ."  He said as he walked towards Carlos "Cooking is easy ." Carlos said as Tk wrapped his arms around Carlos's waist "Did talking to Cooper help ?" Carlos asked

"Yeah, thanks for making me go ."  Tk said "How are you feeling any dizziness

I'm okay ." Carlos assured Tk

After they ate Carlos got settled while Tk took a quick shower "You know I'm regretting getting a shower earlier ." Carlos teased as to brushed his teeth with a towel. Around his waist "shut up ." Tk said before spitting out his toothpaste he closed the door and a few minutes later came out fully dressed "Maybe you can get a show when you recover." Tk said as he got under the covers " I go back to work tomorrow night ." Carlos said as he and Tk lay facing one another "Yeah against my will" Tk said running his hands through Carlos's curls
With that TK's shirt rose showing the scars that lived on his upper arm Carlos carefully traced each one "I didn't relapse ." TK admitted, " I would be lying if I said it didn't cross my mind but I didn't ."

"I'm proud of you either way... You so strong ." caps said kissing tks head "Promise me you'll never leave me ?" Tk asked looking up into Tk's eyes "Promise."
