Advanced Potions class was dull and annoying not like any other, I looked over to carmen,we haven't spoke since that last meeting meaning we haven't spoken for two weeks and she made sure I hadn't seen her too, often missing a class or two.

hoping to find that eager look in her eyes whenever she was learning something new, i was baffled by what i saw;

She looked exhausted, restless even, her eyes were halfway closer as she stared aimlessly to the board and the dark circles around them were insane.

Barty noticed her state too because he nudged her and the simple move almost knocked her over concerning us all

"Are you alright?" I heard barty's whispers "do you need a break?" He kept asking nonstop questions which was really annoying since some of us are trying to focus, but he didn't stop,

having enough I muttered a single 'shh' secretly wishing he won't shut up as my curiosity was far more needy

"Is there something wrong?" Professor slughorn asked peering over them with a raised eyebrow, Carmen was quick to shake her head dismissively but apparently barty had other plans

"Actually, yes" he burst surprisng the whole classroom, slughorn might have been a bit daft but no one dared to speak up to him

"you see professor,carmen is ill" he said earning a confused look from her "I am?" She muttered "yes , yes you are" he patted her head

"Oh i'm so sorry dear, do you need to go the infirmary?" Slughorn said concern and worry obvious in his tone

"Yes she does, thank you professor" barty said and in less than a second all their belongings were gathered

"Byyyeee" he sang pushing Carmen through the door and out of the classroom

What the fuck was happening?

"What's wrong with them?" Evan asked as confused as me, I only shrugged in response having no clue, but apparently dorcas did

"They're probably snogging somewhere" she let out an amused laugh and I couldn't help but frown.

"I don't think they are, Carmen and Barty's relationship is purely platonic" Pandora added is a hushed voices not wanting to grab the unnecessary attention of our dear teacher.

My throat reacted on its own accord letting out a scoff
"Doesn't seem like it"

"Awe, Are you jealous reg?" Dorcas teased

I glared at her mumbling a quiet "As if " but I definitely heard Evan and dorcas muttering to themselves, and even though I couldn't hear the entire conversation I heard one phrase and it was enough for me to fume with annoyance;

"He's definitely jealous"

Ugh.
