After downing multiple drinks Carmen and Regulus started to feel wrecked, the room swayed around them like a maze while the crowd of bodies clashing together turned to neon ghosts in their perspective.
"Reggiee" the girl slurred narrowing her eyes in order to clear her vision, but she was thoroughly gone.
Regulus-whom had been feeling giddier than usual-turned to smile at her "Yes, dear?"
They had somehow managed to find an empty couch, which they found rather odd as they were in the middle of a very busy bar.
"If you could be any animal, what would you be?"
he thought for a moment, before saying "A cat, specifically a black one"
At that her eyes lit up, "I love cats, but me personally I would choose to be a swan"
"Swans are fascinating" he nodded approvingly "my turn" he declared scrunching his nose "What's your favorite song?"
"hmm, probably 'yellow brick road'" she said and he immediately smiled, remembering how Sirius used to play this song day and night in order to mock their parents
"I love that song" Regulus said and she smiled wider "you probably know every song ever made"
"How come?"
"You're almost never seen without headphones"
"Are you stalking me, Thompson?" he let that easy smirk rest on his face
"No, we just happen to be in the same house, besides I left that stalking thing to you" she said sarcasm lacing her voice.
"oh come on! That was ages ago!" he exclaimed trying to hide his laugh
"As if you ever stopped stalking me" she let a laugh bubble out of her
"speaking of which, I saw you falling down the stairs the other day"
she immediately gasped "No, you did not!"
"I didddd" Regulus nodded finally giving up and joining her with a laugh.
"you just rolled down there" he added making her laugh even harder, and he felt the proudest man on earth
After their laughter died down, Carmen turned to look around her confused.
"where are we?" She asked, readjusting herself so now her head rested on Regulus' lap.
"It looks like we're in a party"
"but, why?"
"I think it's someone's birthday" he leaned closer while whispering, unaware to the fact that their faces became inches apart. "what do you think?" he added, his pale eyes meeting her warm ones.
"I think I want to kiss you" she admitted and the boy almost died just then and there.
'Is this normal, am I dying?' He secretly wondered as his heart threatened to explode out of his chest.
He thought for a moment, but then it must have been the alcohol taking over because sober Regulus would never smash his lips on hers, sober Regulus wouldn't push her further against the couch and slowly slip his tongue into her mouth.
God, I shouldn't do this.
He drew back staring at her deeply in the eyes, even on this drunken state; Regulus knew that she was too wasted for this, he couldn't do that to her, even if she begged him to.
"Careful what you wish for" he said tugging a strand of hair out of her eyes, her bangs had gotten longer since the first time he saw her, framing her face so beautifully.
