I had never been in here before, nor it had come to my absent mind to, It was a very wide room with four large tables in the middle that were occupied by many elves who were all stunned by our sudden appearance.

"Miss carmen had come to visit us!" One elf cried and the others followed all seemingly excited

"Hello, how are you guys?" She waved smiling at them and they all erupted in loud greetings and news

"Does miss Thompson need anything?" One elf said and carmen quickly replied "Toddy, we talked about this, it's just Carmen and yes I would be extremely delighted if you could fetch me a cup of coffee"

One of them hurried to make her one while the others resumed their work

"Regulus do you need anything?" She turned to look at me

"No, thank you" I said before sittings down on a wooden chair beside her

"So what did you want to talk about?" She raised an eyebrow urging me to continue

"About this engagement thing, my mother sent a letter upon the dark lord's request" I started watching as her expression turned blank at the mention of this specific topic "They want us to go on a date"

"What?" She was surprised to say the least and when I only nodded at her she started rambling about how this wasn't supposed to happen until we finish school and all the thoughts I had when I read that same letter too

"I know, but they don't want us seeing other people" I explained accusation clear in my voice and I think she caught it too because she turned to look at me confused

"What's that supposed to mean?" She asked slightly losing her temper

"Well, I know for a fact that you and Barty-"

"Me and Barty are just friends" she cut me off

"look, you can deny it all you want, I certainly won't care but the dark lord will" I spat annoyed by how she denied it so quickly,

ofcourse she didn't think I was that daft, did she?

"I don't care about the dark lord and nor should you" she scoffed reaching for her mug "there's nothing to deny, what's between me and barty is pure friendship" she clarified and what puzzled me is that she sounded sincere

"Oh" I mumbled feeling a little guilty for all the accusations I threw her way, she gave me a pointed look and we sat there in silence for a few moments

I was going to get up before I remembered what I wanted to say before

"I have an idea" I said catching her attention

"Enlighten me" she mocked

"We go on a date, infact we go on many dates, except It's not real" I said to a confused carmen

"But how?" She asked

"We pretend" I watched as her expression went from confused to excited

"We start fake dating you mean?" She was practically beaming

"Yes, and until we get them off our backs we will figure this out" I assured her while she nodded understandingly

"Deal" she raised her hand

"We're not going to shake hands, are we?"

"Yes we are"

And so we did, her hands were warm against my cold ones and I felt my heart skip a beat as she locked her almond eyes on mine smiling slightly, I blamed it on the content of the moment.
