<Regulus>

It was already six in the afternoon; lunch hadn't been served nor called for and my stomach has started complaining, I found a small balcony to settle in and have a cigarette or two.

I inhaled sharply, saved it for a second, then blew the smoke out sighing with content, three hours had passed since I last saw carmen, she practically disappeared and so did her mother meaning I had the house completely to myself.

I felt the silent breeze gently endulging me and I don't think I have ever felt this much before, there was something about the atmosphere, maybe it was the scenery infront of me where mountains are mixed with heavy clouds or maybe it was the gloomy weather but nonetheless it brought a weird sense of comfort to me, I forgot for a moment we were in france.

"Are you hungry?" Came a sudden voice from behind me, I didn't need to turn around to know who it belonged to

"No" I lied slightly shaking the cigarette before placing it between my lips again

"Liar" she snatched the cigarette from my lips only to place it between hers, I took the moment to scan her as she slowly blew the smoke passing the now red tainted cigarette to me

I took it and threw it on the ground harshly stepping on it to tame its ignitasion

After a moment of silence she sighed, gently tapped my shoulder and muttered "let's go"

She exited the balcony and I helplessly followed her until we were back into her room

"Grab a coat or something and if you stop being so grumpy I might just show you around town" she had a lazy smile on her face as she took out a thick black coat, I copied her and started to wear mine but I refused to unbutton it letting the green scarf hang loosely around my neck.

She closed the door with a thud, a few pieces of snow lazily falling around

We walked for a bit until we actually reached the town, it was lovely, not too crowded but enough to create an enthusiastic vibe, everyone there beamed with excitement or content as they chatted amongst themselves some even making jokes with their customers.

I could imagine myself here, living slowly, enjoying every moment and soaking every sunset.

We passed the markets and headed towards a narrow street until we reached the local library

"I just have to greet someone, you can look around if you want" carmen said pointing towards the old building "sure" I muttered and followed her there

The sound of a bell jingling upon our entrance could be heard, the inside of this place was magnificent; the wooden floors creaked under our footsteps as we were met with a maze of bookshelves and magazines, it smelled amazing in there.

"Madame colleen?" Carmen called turning left and right in search of the woman

A voice cried from afar "carmen, Est-ce que tu?"

"Oui madame" carmen replied still looking around

"What is she a ghost?" I huffed still following carmen who nudged my arm with a glare

"Où es-tu?"

"Ici!" An old woman four times our age appeared infront of us with an excited smile that lit up her whole face, she quickly embraced the girl in a bone crashing hug and though I thought carmen might push away, she didn't.
