The party was boring like any other, it shouldn't even be considered a party but a gathering for my mother and her ridiculous friends.

My mother forced me into this itchy dress that was far too short for my liking, it had feathers and frills and I didn't hate anything more than those things,

I was entirely thankful for Barty and Evan's presence as they tried to lighten the mood by cracking jokes about the dress which was more than fine by me

We were sitting on a small couch at the corner of my living room drinking fire whiskey in tiny teacups

"It should be considered a crime" barty said about the dress

"A crime? More like a torture to humanity" evan replied

"And it's not even comfortable" I huffed pulling it down to cover as much skin as possible

God I hated how I looked

" Why the long faces" Regulus said as he came to sit between barty and me

"Reggie!" Barty said and Regulus rolled his eyes at the nickname

"Where were you?" Evan asked eyeing him up and down curiously

Regulus had disappeared a while ago with an unknown excuse, he just simply went out.

"I was-um doing something" he said hiding something in his pocket

"Okay?" Evan shrugged

"Happy birthday" he replied with the faintest smile and I nodded muttering a small 'thanks'

"Hey barty wanna go grab a drink?" Evan nudged barty

"No I'm fine thanks" he said and when evan raised his eyebrows expectantly at him he quickly muttered "excuse me" and they both went off

"Idiots" I muffled a laugh watching as Evan whisper shouted to Barty about something

An awkward silence settled between us, The only sound that could be heard was the faint music combined with a variety of chats.

I decided to break it but It seemed that Regulus too had the same idea

"I'm sorry!" We both said at the same time

"I'll start" I said and he nodded acceptingly

"I shouldn't have forced you to stay, I was clearly not thinking properly I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable" I said shifting awkwardly

This conversation wasn't exactly comfortable to me but I ought to apologize

I noticed my dress has ridden up abit revealing more skin, Regulus followed my gaze and saw it too and I was just about to scowl at him, but before I even opened my mouth he took off his coat and placed it neatly on my lap covering my leg with eternal warmth.

I felt my heart skip a beat when his fingers accidentally grazed my thighs.

"You didn't make me uncomfortable or force me I wanted to" he replied calmly

"Oh"

"ofcourse I didn't plan on falling asleep I was just staying until you slept so I'm sorry too if I ever made you uncomfortable" He said not meeting my eyes

"You didn't"

He quickly turned to look at me, his blue eyes meeting my brown ones and we stayed like this for what felt like an hour until he shook his head and stood up

"Mother sent you something" he shifted uncomfortably

"Oh, she didn't have to" I looked up to meet his gaze

He reached his left pocket and gave me a small white box that contained a simple silver bracelet

"It's beautiful, thank you" I smiled as I took the bracelet and clasped it around my wrist

He nodded smiling slightly "I got you something too"

"The bracelet is really more than enough" I said surprised and confused at the same time, truth be told I didn't expect him to get my anything

"Nonsense" he shook his head rapidly and offered his hand to me explaining that it was in my room

I took it and followed him around until we reached my room

He unzipped his backpack only to reveal a glass shaped box that contained a beautiful necklace

Beautiful was an understatement, it was magnificent, utterly fascinating

"Oh my- I can't accept this"

"Please" he only said staring deeply into my eyes

"I- thank you, it's beautiful" I took the box from his hand admiring the graceful piece

I opened the box and took it out caressing it with my fingers

I heard regulus let out a relieved sigh

"Can you help me?" I asked referring to the necklace, he nodded standing behind me in the mirror

He wrapped it around my neck gently unclasping it and I could hear his ragged breath

Before I even questioned it the necklace started to glow around my neck , I turned to look at Regulus for answers but he seemed as clueless as I was

The necklace turned back to normal leaving us both flustered

"What just happened?" I asked a distraught Regulus who had a guilty expression all over his face

"I- the man at the store said that this necklace was special and that it chooses its owner not the opposite and since it needs someone special I thought no other would fit it more than you" he explained and I didn't know how to react

"I don-"

"Do something"

"What?"

"Cast a spell try using your magic" he demanded and I reached for my wand with shaky hands

"Stupefy!" I aimed my wand at him and he flew back crashing against the wall with a thud

Sure the spell was powerful but not like that?

I went to check on Regulus only to find him unconscious

What have I done?
