The next day: Carmen woke up blissfully content, empty of all the negativity she would get on each morning.
Lazily; she conjured a cup of coffee biting into the numerous chocolates Regulus gave her, and when the thought of him invaded her mind again (not like it ever left) a nervous smile ghosted her lips, That boy was making her feel things she never dared to think of.
Thankfully, she had the day off; considering she just survived a deadly curse and woke up from a two-week comma, still, Carmen got ready to start the day.
After noticing the hot weather, a sundress was the perfect choice for the spring atmosphere, combined with her soft hair and golden jewelry; the girl looked stunning.
"Someone's in a good mood" barty noticed, eying her up and down curiously.
He looked half asleep, cuddling two pillows with a blanket draped over him.
"It certainly helps not being dead already" She remarked, snuggling closer to him. "Why are you sleeping on the couch?"
The messy boy let out a tired yawn, "Regulus brought a girl" and immediately Carmen's heart stopped beating, her expression twisted to one of pure shock as she practically paled, "What?"
"Kidding, it was Evan" he smiled annoyingly, followed by a groan when Carmen hit him.
Afterwards, the two friends sat in peace, Carmen sipping on a cup of coffee, while Barty filled her on the new drama, that until they heard the portrait being closed in a thud.
"Don't worry dear Carmen, I'll protect you!" Barty mocked as if shielding her and Carmen hit him again with a pillow.
Through the common room; Came a very tired, messy haired, sleep deprived, Regulus.
The boy practically walked like a statue never turning his head once; until he flopped down on the couch opposite them.
"Mhmm" Regulus let a muttered hum slipping his hand beneath his head for support.
Barty and Carmen turned to look at eachother once, before erupting into laughter; which, absentmindedly, caught Regulus' attention.
He sat up too quickly, his head practically pounding, "What are you-" yawn, "doing this early?"
Carmen snickered abit, "Just chatting"
"On a Saturday morning?" Regulus groaned
"Is there a rule about shit-talking on a Saturday?" Barty questioned, as confused as I was.
"Saturdays are for rotting in bed and regretting waking up" The curly haired boy complained, bending his arms around his neck, and it didn't help Carmen to stop glueing her eyes on the forming muscles.
Barty got up, messing Regulus' hair even more,"Wake up depressed boy, we're gonna miss breakfast"
Regulus shoved barty's hand away, mumbling a few curse words, "I'm going to murder Evan, my back is killing me!"
Carmen too, got up folding the blanket, which barty left messily discarded.
By the time she was finished tidying up the room, Regulus was back; looking as neat as usual, stopping arbutly in his tracks when he saw how beautiful his girl looked.
"What're you all dressed up for?" He eyed her suspiciously, his heart almost exploding at the thought of her having another date.
Carmen, who noticed the jealousy dancing in his narrowed eyes, decided to tease him. "Nothing, just meeting someone"
His eyebrows quickly furrowed,"Who?!"
"A mysterious young man who fought for my hand" she added dramatically and Regulus' frown deepened,
And yet again, Carmen fought the urge to laugh "No one, you idiot! Now come on we're going to miss breakfast"
After visibly relaxing into a smile, Carmen grabbed Regulus' arm and dragged him to the great hall.

"I think we should do something today" Pandora announced as she swallowed the last bite of her pie "We should celebrate Carmen's survival"
"As much as I'm happy that you think my survival is a celebration, I must get out of it, I have alot of studying to do." Carmen gave her an apologizing smile, while barty muttered under his breath, "Nerd"
Evan nodded agreeingly, "Yeah, and we have a quidditch match tomorrow, remember?"
"Ofcourse I remember, I'm the team's captain, you idiot!" Barty scoffed, offended.
"Reggie, you should practice too, you haven't practiced since-" Regulus cut Evan before he finished the sentence, "Yeah, yeah, let's go guys" and so the three boys, followed by dorcas (who's the only girl in the Slytherin quidditch team) ran into the field, promising an eternal win under their breaths.

Carmen and Pandora returned to the common room, and while Carmen was eager to spend more time with her, Pandora had things to do.
So just like that; she had the whole day to herself.
It's been so long since Carmen was alone like that, ofcourse she was used to it back home; where she was alone all the time, but ever since she attended Hogwarts and befriended Barty on that train, Thankfully she never got a chance to feel lonely.
Having nothing else to do, Carmen decided to study as exam season seemed to edge closer by the day and she didn't want to feel rushed. (A/N; Oh how I wish I'd done this)
After a while, an owl came, holding three letters.
After rewarding the small creature with a treat, Carmen returned to her desk to read them all.
The first one was from her mother and instantly she saved it for the last.
The second one was from her sister and instantly she felt anger boiling inside of her, she had written them so many letters over the summer, but none were returned.
Her sister used to be a safety harbor for her, a comfort person if that was possible, but all this was shattered when she completely abandon her, Carmen didn't even know why, she used to owl her all the time, but one day she just stopped.
At first; Carmen was hesitant, she didn't want to open the letter, but then the thought of what's written inside triggered her, so with a sigh at her annoying curiosity she decided to open it.
Dear Carmen,
I know I haven't written to you since forever, but you must know It was by mistake. I got completely caught up in my own life that I nearly forgot about you.Carmen paused to scoff in disbelief, wondering how could someone be so rude.
But when mother sent me a letter explaining that you were getting engaged I nearly had a seizure. Ofcourse I immediately realized this wasn't your thinking and that you were forced, I wonder if it was mom, or you know who. Alas I want to meet you, there're so many things I want to tell you and so many questions running through my head that could only be answered by you. So if you forgive my ignorance and be kind enough to meet me at anytime you want I would be grateful.
Your beloved sister, Maxene.
Confusion and sadness engulfed Carmen, how could she 'forget her' as she said? How could someone ever forget their sibling?
"Life would be so much easier if I had the same coldness of heart." Carmen stated, to no one in particular.
