LEIRIN ANDREA PATTERSON

Things may have been done at a rush kaya naman bahagyang nananakit ang aking katawan. I found it hard to get up in the morning to have breakfast with Kuya and Dad, but I do not have a choice dahil ito lang naman ang hiling nila, kahit sa almusal ay sabay-sabay kami.

I decided to get up and wash my face.

"Good morning, Kuya Lance!" masiglang bati ko dito. However, he did not snap out of his trance. Mukhang malalim talaga ang iniisip nito. He suddenly snapped out of it to type something before he looked at me with a sweet smile.

"Good morning, my lovely, lovely girl," he slowly said, chuckling. Anyway, where is our father?

"Where's Dad?" I asked, taking my seat.

"He'll be here any minute," he said, looking back at his device.

Right on cue, my father arrived at the dining area with his usual look. It revolves around tucked-in polo shirts, button-up long-sleeved tops, or a knitted turtleneck topped with a pea coat.

Their bodies were both fit and healthy. They were both tall and hindi mo maikakaila na mag-ama sila, minsan nga ay iisipin mo pang magkapatid lang sila. Pareho rin sila ng taste when it comes to clothes. You know, to easily move so they could protect themselves in case something bad happens.

Our father sat at the head of the table. When he was settled, the maids immediately took off the cover of the food.

"Dad, you should congratulate Leirin. She was able to get Frederico Wright's approval. I will meet him today to talk about the joint venture," sabi bigla ni Kuya Lance na siyang tinanguan ng aming ama.

I decided to butt in.

"It was Trevor who made him say yes. My painting plan did not work, so he needed to pull out his big guns, figuratively and not literally," maarte pero masayang pagkukwento ko.

"How's Trevor? What can you say about him?" biglang tanong ni Dad kaya napahinto ako sa pagsubo ng pagkain.

I looked at him, thinking of words to say. I should put in a good word. Everyone seemed to kind of not like him because of his impulsivity and recklessness, but they just needed to look beyond that to understand him.
