Pulling in my driving way, I reverse parked beside Rome's car. Shifting to park, I turn my engine off and grabbed my bag and keys.
After closing the door, I watch as he hopped off his hood and walk towards me.
"Dropped her off already, everything gov?"
I nod in response, " I had made sure to verify before I brought her"
"Zeen"
He placed his hands around my shoulder, walking side by side we made our way to my front door.
"Bring the tool them fi fix the thing".
Stopping in my tracks, mouth wide open, I turn to him "shit, I forgot to call and tell you that I got it fixed"
"Dat good, call the plumber?"
Fidgeting with my finger, not meeting his eyes, I say lowly "no I asked my neighbor"
Silence.
"Which neighbor Mimi?"
"The one that dropped off the plant the other day".
He hissed, stepping away from me walking towards the door.
Looking for things to do outside, I went to my garden. Knowing that if we go inside, all hell will break loose.
"Fawud come open dis"
"Yah go wait or go home."
With a nonchalant tone, hands in his pocket he says, "Naomi nuh fuck yuhself, come open the door before me get dark out yah"
Knowing that he's capable of doing just that, I go to open the door, turning to walk back outside afterwards.
Pulling my garden hose loose, I start watering my babies soon after. Cleaning and picking the dead leaves that hangs.
Throwing them out and heading to the porch, I look up meeting his eyes.
"Nah come in?"
Meeting his stare I replied "no cause I'm trying to avoid an argument".
Pulling me inside, he walked me to the couch. Taking a seat, I positioned one foot underneath and the other on the floor. I look across at him sitting on the center table.
"No argument, lets reason".
"..."
"Me nuh rate seh you let in a complete stranger in the house that my daughter calls home, Yuh nuh have no typa clue what's his background and if he's a threat to yuh or Mani, plus yuh do all a this while she was here."
"Weh yuh did a think?"
